harassment / Obstruction cards (Tribbles & Fizzgig))

The guys I play with were talking, & we decided our games needed some low point cards that can be used to harass other players, block an entrance, slow down movement, etc.

To that end, I came up with "The Tribble Pile" (From Star Trek) and Fizzgig (From Dark Crystal).

I'm not done with Fizzgig yet, but here's the tribbles.

I made the figures from some spare mini bases I had lyin' around, & a $.97 package of poms that I got out of the craft section of Wal-Mart. I was able to make about 6 figures out of one bag, & still had a ton of larger poms left over.

I gave them 2 life & 2 defense on the assumption that there's a lot o' Tribbles in one pile. It would be difficult to kill them all in one swing/shot/etc.

Interesting idea, and I hope the Fizzgig will turn out just as interestingly.

...But there are a few minor issues.

Common Heroes can only have 1 Life. Uncommon Heroes can have more than 1 Life though. If you want to keep that as Common Heroes (which I would suggest with the way this unit works), you can add Tough so that they are little more durable. You could even change the name of Tough to something more appropriate like "Large Pile" or something to that effect.

The Trouble With Tribbles could use the following wording:
"At the end of a round in which a Tribble Pile you control did not move, you may place a previously destroyed Tribble Pile adjacent to any Tribble Pile you control."

That says everything you say, just in 'Scape Grammar (and so that you can't have 500 points in Tribbles and then an army ).

Also, because it is a playable unit, it needs to have at least 1 Attack and Range. If the Tribbles become your last line of defense, your going to need to fight somehow.

Fizzgig looks neat, although he would be super easy to kill. If your opponent has all melee, it might be worth it to camp your guys next to Fizzgig to deny your opponent one attack. Roll should read:

Instead of attacking, Fizzgig may move an additional # spaces.

If you are interested in distraction cards, my Magikarp custom is the epitome of that for multiplayer games. I brought him into a 4-player superhero battle and magikarp constantly changed hands and harassed ranged figures. It is more unofficial than your Tribbles and Fizzgig though.

Rolling should read:
If Fizzgig does not attack this turn, he may increase his move value to 6.

Distraction should read:
Opponent's figures adjacent to Fizzgig roll one less attack die, for a minimum of 1 attack.

I can't see someone using Fizzgig with the ninjas available. For him to ever get an OM, I think Rolling needs to increase his move to 7 or 8 and Distraction needs to be a ~3-space aura. Though this will raise his price, it could make him worth a turn to activate.

Also, I'd suggest a power like Climb X3, only worded to be Fall X3. He looks like a ball of fluff...

<NAME> (Fluffy? Fall X3?)
When moving down levels of terrain, Fizzgig may triple his Height.

....& I really like the Magikcarp card. Looks like I may be off to wallyworld to try & find a carp toy to use as the mini.
