I realize that the aforementioned word combo makes little sense.

Thanks for the kind words, Ormus. That means a lot to me and my maps!
I would like to get away from symmetrical maps, but they're so much easier to construct on the fly. I sometimes think I give to much emphasis on LOS blockers, but I try to nip ranged dominance.
Thank you for looking.

I like to use extreme height, eggregious amounts of trees, unreachable castle walls, etc. LOS blockers add to the game strategy in my opinion.

Like the thread so far! Cool scenario!

You should get at least one more castle set and as many RttFF sets as you can find. But that's my tree-hugging personal opinion.
If i can find the castle sets cheap and any RttFF, I would.

Right. I understand the RttFF sets are becoming more scarce - or at least affordable.
Good luck finding some and no second throughts when you do get the opportunity!

If it never pans out, trees are easily made or substituted.
Definitely look into creating some rock formations with that flower foam material. The boulders work just as good as trees and they're way easy to create.
Here are some of mine. They're passable for terrain and I'm not custom a terrain artist of any sort.

Looks good. I have to pick some up next time I'm around a craft store.

*Hello, post 6500!*

I gotta love my wife.
Yesterday, she asked me if I'd like to invite Guerillinator over for a few games before we head off to the mountains for the weekend.
Hells yeah!
So after dinner, I modified my son's map, Placid Pillars, and made this nooks n crannies layout.

DAMNATION ALLEYS
May I suggest a nasty dragon queen for all your acid-spewing needs?
Or perhaps any Phantom/Ghost Walking unit to dish out some nasty slicing hurt?
Most enticing is a Kozuke bum rush. Very speedy and deadly if I do say so.
Welcome to Damnation Alleys - more fun than a hall of mirrors in a power outage!

Thanks Teamski, I totally stole the idea from Oncara and Raudulf, I think.
The rock formations are simple to make.
Here was my tread for the boulders, but I suggest checking the other guys' threads as their boulders came out my more...rockin': http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=14714

Icy Crossroads
A map I quick-made for a game night last weekend.
Wanted to show a new player some ice and snow, so I put this together.

The layout creates too much action directly in the middle.
That isn't bad per se, but because the starting zones lay along the length of each side, the far edges of the board are hardly used at all.

Anyway, here it is:

You forgot to put that it's deep snow and slippery ice.

Makes for a very hard to get to high ground.
