Hey, Gamebear - I'm having trouble downloading Embattled Fen. Any idea why this could be happening? Thanks!

It just worked fine for me, can you provide more information on the problem you are having?

I didn't have a "Downloads" account

Which I'm pretty positive I didn't need to have up until very recently. When did this change, or am I just completely off my rocker?

Hmm, you don't have to be logged in for most, I'll check Embattled Fen

Ok, it looks like the Swarm of the Marro map category was set to not allow guest to download. I fixed it as well as the Battlefields of Valhalla.

So sorry about that mistake.

New map: Silent Courtyard. 2 MS + 1 FA + 1 FF
Highlights
Balanced glyph placement
Split starting zones (24-hex total)
Glyphs
1 glyph location

I've decided to kick off my next 100 posts with a few 2 MS maps I have designed. This map was my first attempt at split starting zones.

Would that mean that you designed this 2 MS map before you made Survival, even though you released it later? How many maps you got in that vault?

Silent Courtyard came first (I mentioned it when I posted Survival). I don't usually post out of order - the 2 MS maps are an exception, and I only have a couple more of those.

Jexik is to blame for this map. Nature's Balance is clearly not a tournament map, as cosmetic concerns took precedence. My design approach was pretty straightforward: I created a template, then worked on implementing it using as few sets as possible. This map could easily accomodate different starting zone locations and/or multiple glyphs, and could probably handle 3 or 4 players as well due to its size. There is also a bit of unused terrain that could be used to customize the map. Using different sets could be fun, too - for instance, replacing the Marvel set with two lava sets would allow for a lava field dividing line and molten lava seeds.

Hah! Awesome looking map...and I like the method you used to build it. We need more maps that are as pretty to look at as they are fun to play on.

Ooh, cool design! All that open space on the rock side seems a bit "spooky" - just like a good sci-fi or horror flick where you know something's going to jump out and scare the pants off of you
