What are some armies that you can create with Blade Gruts? Competitive or just for fun, how have you used the Blade Gruts?

Ornak's flag gives you tons of Round 1 options, then move Blades and Orc Champs as you see fit during the first round. Brunak and Grimnak both provide some killer offense too.

This is my favorite orc army for 450 points.

For 500 points I like to take out NGS and add Tornak + another squad of blade gruts so the army looks like this

Raelin
Blade Gruts x3
500 16 hexes

1 on Ornak, move out the Mindflayers. Rest of OMs mixed between Raelin and the Blade Gruts to maximize Ornak and the Kyrie's auras. While the Blade Gruts aren't the focal point of this army, they do make it playable and make both of Ornak's powers functional.

The Orc army I have been using at a 400 point total is:

Nerak 50/400
Krug 170/500
Swog Rider x2 220/400
Blade Gruts x2 300/400
Arrow Gruts x2 380/400

The Blade Gruts are the focal point along with Krug for the front lines with support from the Arrow Gruts. If raising to 500, Grimnak can slide in comfortably and make it an even 500.

Looks like fun. It might be hard to manuver since the forward hero doesn't bond with the forward troops, and the back hero doesn't bond with the back troops.

Took a couple plays to get the system down but it is fun to play. I prefer the set ups of balanced range and melee instead of playing strictly one or the other.

As for with this army, dependent against opposing army and play style of that person, I flip flop who I lead with. Sometimes I feel like opening up with the swarm of Blade Gruts is a surprise and catches people off guard who just expect Krug immediately. Krug will come up around the middle of round two or beginning of round three to start wreaking havoc.
