If the program runs, that's a good sign. I suggest finding the templates you downloaded or downloading the templates again and follow the procedure I outlined for billtrumpet a couple posts up. The templates don't need to be installed, just extracted to the correct folder. If it still won't work for you, shoot me a PM and we can try to work through it.

It seems to be working now. I just reinstalled MSE and it was able to accept the Heroscape templetes. Thanks for the help mac.

Hello everyone, does anyone know where on could find the general styled backgrounds for cards? The volcanoes for Utgar, the forrest for Ullar, etc..

For reference for others, I was running into what I think is the same issue noted earlier in this thread on Windows 7.

The program itself works, but the files pertaining to the Heroscape templates either don't download or fail to install. No error message comes up.

In my case I did the following:

• downloaded and installed MSE 2.0 - no issues with either
• downloaded, extracted, and moved Heroscape templates into the \data directory under MSE
• started MSE, which starts fine

At that point, the Magic the Gathering templates appear without problem, but only the Heroscape card image appears. Clicking the Heroscape image, no templates appear. I also tried opening my old .mse files from a different computer, also without success.

After several attempts to get it working without success, I finally decided that the install directory might be the problem.

Windows 7 seems to default the MSE 2.0 install to:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Magic Set Editor 2

When I changed the install to go instead to:
c:\Program Files\Magic Set Editor 2
and then went through the normal setup steps, the Heroscape templates successfully appeared, and I was also able to successfully open all my old .mse files.

I don't know whether the Heroscape templates hard-code the directory path, but it appears that they do not like to be in the Program Files (x86) directory.

I was wondering if anyone had found Glyph templates that are like the C3G Marvel glyphs. I'm not finding any using the search feature and would love the help tracking them down.

I don't think the C3G group has released the card blank. If they ever do, it would be pretty easy to work it into MSE.

Am I missing an obvious way to create the target point silhouette that goes on the cards? I'm good with computers in general but bad with graphics programs and artistic stuff.

On a similar topic, I have trouble getting the main picture of the unit to look right and be centered without getting squished funny. Is there a trick to this?

Wonderful tool for Heroscape even with my picture problems.

What image editing program do you use? If you use GIMP, I can help you work through the steps. You can also do a search on the site for Whitestuff's GIMP tutorial. He may also have one for Photoshop, if that's what you use. Feel free to send me a PM with any questions.

Edit: Here's the link to Whitestuff's gimpshop tutorial. It's made from an earlier version of the program, but the general ideas are there.

Here's the Glyph Label Add-On I created. It only has the Classic label background. If I can find the C3G style, I could add it in.

Increase the canvas size of the image. As in, if the image is 9inx9in, add 6in to the margins to make it 15x15. You can then zoom in and out as you please and shift the picture around with more flexibility until you get it how you like it.

As far as the Hit Zone goes, the trick is don't worry about making it too perfect because it's so small.

My question is: If I already have this installed, how do I add just the Valkrill template without everything else. If I have to install everything else, what do I keep, and what do I remove?
I currently have MSE under a Game folder. The zip installs under my Downloads folder, so there isn't upfront messiness.
I've tried doing it several times on my own and it just doesn't work.

Oh yeah. I also would like to have the option to not autotext special powers.
Currently I purposely included powers to bypass the intrusion.

Help is appreciated. - Edit: Figured it out. Embarrassingly easy, just drag over and overwrite. Pictures and everything stay in place.
