Most reports that reference the above Feige statement automatically suggest that Avengers 2 is one of the unannounced films, but I think they will continue to take a measure approach and not start on Avengers 2 right away. They took their time with Avengers, getting 5 other movies done first and Avengers paid big diva-dins from not rushing into it. So following the same format, I see 5 stand alone movies coming out before Avengers 2: Iron Man 3, Cap. America 2, Thor 2, Ant-Man, & Black Panther. That would be a nice slate of films from which they could build up to an Avengers 2 in which Black Panther, Ant-Man, & Wasp get to join in on the fun. These are just my thoughts on how it will play out.

I, personally, would be very surprised if Antman and Wasp ever actually end up on the big screen. They just seem a bit too far out there to work on the big screen. Then again, Whedon pulled off a Chitauri invasion in NYC, so who knows...

A Black Panther movie on the other hand would be sweet! I can see it now; it'd be like Crocadile Dundee...but with claws and a cape.

Ant Man is confirmed. They showed some footage at a convention somewhere. Don't remember where the article is, but he's there!

They showed a clip the directer used to sell the studio on the idea of an Ant-Man movie. In it Ant-Man (random actor as the role has not yet been cast) keeps on changing size while beating up a couple of guards at the end of a hallway. Those who saw it said it was pretty cool and apparently the studios agreed as they said he is not officially in the plans for 'phase 2' even though a firm release date was not set.

They did give a firm release date for Guardians of the Galaxy though. Early speculation on that movie is that they will flesh out who Thanos is and why he is such a big bad cosmic threat.

Then they also announced the titles for the two sequels they have in store. Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Thor: The Dark World (? or something similar). No clue as to what the Thor title refers to but the Winter Soldier story line is well known in comic circles.

I'm starting to wonder if the Thor subtitle is referring to Dark Elves.

Nate - how would a Black Panther movie be like Croccodile Dundee? Black Panther is from Africa, not Australia.

Yeah, apparently once of the actors in the movie accidentally let it slip that they were excited to play elves. Not sure if it's true or a rumor, but I read that somewhere!

I was just watching a Thor cartoon movie on Netflix yesterday when this occured to me. If it's anything like that movie, it could easily involve Surtur and the Warriors Three and Sif as well.

The rumors I have read think the movie will have the Enchantress & the Executioner it in. Surtur is also mentioned in addition to the Enchantress so their may be multiple antagonist. Loki making another appearance should be expected as well.

I like that Dark elves speculation though, it does kind of fit with the Dark World title. I would think the second movie would branch out to some of the other 9 worlds, so the Dark elves home could fit in nicely.

I have not updated this thread in a while but I do know a few things about the Thor 2 movie.

Spoiler Alert!

The main villain will be the Dark Elf Malekitch, played by Christopher Eccleston (the 9th Dr. Who). Also Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eco from Lost) will be playing the dual role of Algrim and Kurse. Returning to the movie will be Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Jaimie Alexander (Sif), Stellan Skarsgard (Dr. Selvig), Rene Russo and Kat Dennings. Not sure about the Warriors Three.

Not really earth shattering news but still nice to know. Loki will be replaced by Thanos as the main villain of Phase 2, which we already pretty much knew after the after credits clip on Avengers.
