Re: Heroscape collection for a good cause

I think I can use your collection in our board game harity events. Although I am currently going to college in Canada, I live in Hong Kong. I am an active member of the BGC in Hong Kong and we have 3~4 charity events every month. We bring board games to schools, hospitals, and public/religious events to promote board games and a healthy life-style(more time spent with friends and family face-to-face). Being an easy-to-learn, quick ,and fun game, 'scape can surely help us. Contact me if this sounds right and I will send your the link to our facebook page.

I'm kind of hoping this gets split and sent to different people. It would be very cool to see all the pictures of the joy it brought to various groups.

I agree 100%. Why not spread the love around to a greater number of people. But it is up to Chilling Touch with how he wants to handle it.

CT..sorry to see you are giving up your collection but think it is great you are looking to give your stuff away to a worthy recipient.

If I may make a suggestion...you should donate it to the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund

They will auction it off and the proceeds will go to help gamers in their time of true need.

Re: Heroscape collection for a good cause

I only have a few sets (like 2), But I have a group of like, 7 or 8 people. We get together at least 3 times a week to play, but we have to use the custom designs (C3g/SoV) b/c i don't have to money to spend on the rare HS sets. If your collection needs a good home, I'm open!

I hope you find a good home for your HS, I know it has given me sme of my best experiences in life. Hanging with friends, tuning your mind. It's too bad you are moving on.

- I need help making proxies for some custom figures if anyone could help me out. - Please PM me if you could help me out

Re: Heroscape collection for a good cause

I will be sending roughly half the collection to Kampfer. His charity is just like something I had in mind for the collection. There will be kids that will benifit from it, I am sure. He will have first pick on what he needs, lands and units.

happyjosiah Will receive a few themed units (legos and redcoats) as well as a few land tiles, for the group of kids he hostes games for.

The X Marker And The CEE will divy up the remaning collection, for their college and high school clubs respectivly.

Thanks for all the responses!

I will hold you all to your honor that you use these pieces the way I have requested, and that you all post pictures of them in use at one time or another.

Re: Heroscape collection for a good cause

Hi Chilling Touch. Today I arrived back home from a vacation and found your package waiting for me. Here is a confirmation photo:

Thank you so much for sending me a portion of your collection. While I did not personally repay you, know that these pieces will be put to good use. If you would like another picture of the figures actually in use, I should be able to get one in a couple days.

Re: Heroscape collection for a good cause

Got home the other day, and this is what I saw on my porch. The excitement begins!

I rip open the package and immediately set up a little display to show all the goodies in the box!

Then yesterday I showed up early before church to set up maps so we could play afterwards. Some of the younger guys who would normally be there were on vacation, but we still had a nice time with the new units (and new terrain!) We built four maps (Marr Highway, Embattled Fen, Hot Heights, and a free build). This picture shows the maps before we put Hot Heights together. The players even enjoyed helping build maps.

The girls played on Marr Highway. Erin (on the left) made grilled cheese for everyone, and we had chips, pretzels and grapes also.

Here you can see Hot Heights constructed with some of the older guys playing on it. Needed those extra 24-hexers from the box to be able to create this map!

Kato and his army stand ready to fight against the Orc horde!

Some in-game action:

All in all, it was a great night, and we are hoping to have even more people next time!
