Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
Just played a 600 point event in Indianapolis that was a combination of General Wars and Heat of Battle. And the HoB part was sort like the one that debuted in Colorado, where half the units had to be placed in your start zone.
I went 4-1 and won with: Knights of Westonx5 Sir Gilbert Raelin Shotgun Sullivan 600pts I originally came up with: 10thx5 MDG Kaemon Awa (or Tagawa Samurai, but wanted KA for the special attack) 595pts I wanted to play the 10th build, but my friend wanted to play in the tournament as well, so I felt obligated to give him the Einar army (thinking it had the best chance to win). The night before the tourney, every test army I threw at the 10th lost. At that point I knew whatever I was going to play required Raelin, so that meant Jandar. Second place was Jandar as well, which was a KoW/4th mix, and my friend ended up in 3rd with the 10th. The top three all finished 4-1, so all good armies. |

Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
This army makes me happy.
Ulginesh Emirroon Jorhdawn Chardris Arkmer Raelin Marro Warriors 600, 11 hexes Might not beat that cheesy stuff you guys have above, but I think it could go 3-2 at least in a tourney and be super fun. Marro can either lead out to grab glyphs and position, while softening up the enemy, or be saved for cleanup. Camp with the Elves ad Raelin on the best perch close to you possible, and use the Armker yo-yo to make sure the battle happens where you want it to. Don't give up your position for anything, and make sure Raelin coves all of the elves. Keep 2-3 elves next to Arkmer (and Emirroon if you're yo-yoing) at all times and keep him in the front of your group hug to make use of engagement strike. I like a setup that looks like this: -A- JEC -U- -R- Which has Chardris, Jorhdawn and Emiroon adjacent to Arkmer. If the opponent has an AoE attack and is close enough to use it, you can spread out a little, but Raelin should help anyway. Plus if it's close enough to use it, it shouldn't be alive for long against the Elves. Last edited by killercactus : March 26th, 2012 at 08:16 AM. Like battle reports? Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
Actually KC, the army I had my one loss against was a mix of Elf wizards and Warriors of Ashra. It was close and I was leading towards the end, but a timely save for him and unlucky kill against me put him ahead in points and the game was called on time. The map didn't let me get to his wizards and the WoA kept rolling shields. Hindsight obviously tells me I should have tried to use Shotgun Sullivan more, but that army was a good counter and he played it well.

Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
With no hex limit this would be great:
Stingers x7 Su-Bak-NA Isamu It works for the tourney Deroche was talking of. I was planing on going to that one but something came up If there are no high defense heros, keep Su-Bak-Na back until the end when he needs to come out. Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
This is an army I heard from somebody on the site when I first created my account. It may even be in this thread and I missed it. But if not, I thought it was pretty funny.
4th Mass x7 490 AE 110 600 points, 28 spaces Spaces would be an issue for official tourneys, but if not, then thats a tough army to beat. If you have an idea for a signature, let me know. Until then, this stays here My Trade List My Custom Map Thread |

Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
Well met!
WotC Blowout Wave 1 pack plus 2 additional squads of Venoc Vipers from Auggies came in the mail today, just in time for Friday's monthly gathering at chas' Game Palace. With Generalscape being postponed yet again (Sherman and Taeblewalker being no-shows), chas and I (with pauliesmiley and Mikeyblaze being possible additional players) will be fielding 600 point armies. We should be able to get in a fair number of games. I'm going with the following: 180 Q9 120 Raelin SotM 120 VV x 3 100 Wyvern 80 Deathreavers x 2 600, 22 spaces Yet another homage to dok's Gen-Con winner, with Vipers instead of the Hydra (as suggested elsewhere) and Raelin SotM/Deathreavers x 2 in for Raelin RotV/Deathreavers x 3 (anyways, too many spaces with Vipers), plus the added wrinkle of the Wyvern. (Power Gamers will, of course, suggest the usual suspects.) This army would be competitive in any format, but especially Reverse the Whip. The following, with no range, will be interesting to play. If my first army loses badly, I might play the Airborne Elite instead of Drake. 150 Romans x 3 120 VWL 120 VV x 3 110 Drake RotV [Airborne Elite] 100 Marcus 600, 24 spaces ![]() When I build an army in Delta/Delta+, it just feels right! |

Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
Well met!
Trying to put Venoc Vipers and Brave Arrow together . . . 160 Wolves of Badru x 2 140 Werewolf Lord 120 Venoc Vipers x 3 75 Khosumet 50 Brave Arrow 40 Theracus 595, 21 spaces Lots of synergy, but, again, no range. With only 2 squads of Vipers, at last I have some range, and even a Special Attacker! 150 Q10 150 Romans x 3 120 Venoc Warlord 100 Marcus 80 VV x 2 600, 22 spaces Last edited by kolakoski : June 18th, 2012 at 10:37 PM. ![]() When I build an army in Delta/Delta+, it just feels right! |

Re: 600 Point Competitive Armies
My new favorite army
Death Knights x3 180 ........6 sp Anubian Wolves x3 225.......9 sp Khosemet .............75........1 sp Dumutef Guard x4 100------8 sp .......................=580 and 24 spaces Death Knights move up your support for the Anubians!!! I like moving up the DG with the DK and then get your AW adjacent the next turn for the extra attack die. Alternate 2 turns AW and 1 turn DK. As you get down to a the last few AW the DK get Khosemet as the 3rd squad member and he can give +1 attack to the AW. You could subsitute some air elementals for DG to slowing down melee and attacking Flyers. Last edited by wolfeman1968 : June 29th, 2012 at 06:28 PM. |
