Re: Music: What are you listening to right now?

OK, this is far outside my normal fare (I largely lost interest in hip-hop in the late '90s), but I've been in an old-school mood lately, listening mostly to Snoop and Dre.

So, much to my surprise I came across this youtube video from Coachella 2012, in which the two legends performed with....a hologram of Tupac? Now, holographic technology sure has come a looong way, because throughout the performance, the image was very clear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGbrFmPBV0Y

Pretty impressive stuff, right? OK, here comes the well-hidden conspiracy theorist in me; at the beginning of the performance, Tupac shouts, "What the **** is up, Coachella?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coachel..._Arts_Festival

The red flag to me is this - Tupac was shot in 1996 (IIRC), but the first Coachella festival wasn't until 1999. AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE? Frankly, I've always made fun of those who insist Elvis is still alive or suggest that GWB was behind 9/11, but c'mon, how many unreleased tracks, videos, performances could this guy have made?

He's alive, I tell you! Tupac is alive!!!!!!!!!!!

WORST. PALADIN. EVER.

Overall Tourney Record: ....I don't even remember anymore!

"Young Homie" by Chris Rene. He was a contestant on X Factor, and it's been all over the radio here-I just learned he's a local.

Of Monsters & Men's new album, "My Head is an Animal"

They've been called the Icelandic Mumford & Sons, so if you lik M&S, definitely give them a listen. "Little Talks" is especially amazing.

Re: Music: What are you listening to right now?

I hooked up my USB turntable to my computer and I've been playing LP's over Team Fortress 2's voice chat. The albums that I played today were:

^ Picked it up at a garage sale the other day for super cheap. No one but me seems to value classical music records from 1957, it seems. :/ Record is real warped, probably from being stored in a vertical stack instead of on its side. Was also without an inner sleeve. The outer sleeve is like convex, so it's a struggle to get the LP out once it's in the sleeve, so I put a plastic protector around it, and then slipped the LP in a paper inner sleeve into the plastic sleeve beside the cover.

Take care of your records please, if I have to see another mess of naked 45's in a cardboard box I'm going to break them into tiny shards and throw them in eyes of the person who started the garage sale. :3

Re: Music: What are you listening to right now?

My work playlist is several days long and has a lot of different music on it, but lately I've been listening to The Beautiful Letdown by Switchfoot and Satellite by P.O.D. Incidentally, those two albums were the start of my escape from CCM.
