I have the same sad issue. My collection continues to grow, but it is very difficult to find others to play with. A lot of the games I'm interested in are probably just a little too complex for my 10 year-old son (he's also not really interested in the games unless they have miniatures), so I play a fair amount of solitaire rules.

I wonder if others would be interested in a boardgame day type of event, arranged similar to the heroscape tourneys. I realize one of the biggest issues would be the logistics of having variable game time and so forth, as well as varying levels of understanding of the rules, but it seems like something could be out together.

Akden, here's some gaming groups/guilds in Virginia that I found on Board Game Geek. Maybe you can find a group close to you to join and game with, that's how I found the group I game with just about every Monday night and sometimes other times as well. For people looking for groups in their state, go the the home page of Board Game Geek. com and over to the Misc. tab at the top. Drop down to "guilds" then down to "gaming group/guild". Choose a country "United States", then scroll down to your state and there are links to the various groups.

It's probably worth checking out the Games Club of Maryland, too, considering how close you are to the state line. I know they are very active, though I don't know much else about them.
