This one does away with range which could be a problem even with range, special attacks, and aura cut in half:

Torin 120
Minions x2 220
Phantom Knights 70

No real synergy except for evil eye protection and ability to fly around the map.

These are possible armies for the Nebraska Skirmish V Fog of War tournament. All range, auras, special attacks, are cut in half and rounded up.

Minions x2 220
Phantom Knights 290
Krug 410

In a previous post I thought about this army but with Torin instead of
Krug. The Fog of War does not affect flight. What are your thoughts?

I have played Minions many times in a tournament setting - twice at NHSD events in DFW. YMMV, but without Atlaga, these guys are just too slow. Too slow to develop, too slow to reinforce once you are in the battle. My optimum mix is generally 3x Minions + Atlaga = 420.

That said, 2x Minions + Atlage + cleanup might be fun...for you, not you opponents.

However, note that in this Fog of War tournament, with all range halved, this is less of an issue.

The Minions have a threat range (move + range) of 5. They can move to and attack anyone within 5 spaces of their starting position. This means that to attack one without it being able to reach and engage you on the next turn, you have to have a range of 6. Normally this is quite achievable, but with Fog of War rules, you need a starting range of 12. A unit with range 12 is, as of this writing, nonexistent. So if an opponent's unit can take a shot at you, there's a guarantee of you being able to attack it back next turn (given you survive the opponent's attack). I think Minions are very viable in this Fog of War tournament.


Dude, Ace is a tennis obsessed, hot-headed cycopath who has a really scary shed in the back of his house that could contain anything.

Well I got to try out this army:

Minions x2
Phantom Knights
Krug

against

Shaolin Monks x5
Isamu

We played 2 games and those stupid Bruce Lee wanna-bees swarmed me with Stealth Leap and their multi-figure adjacent attack. Krug and the minions held their own for awhile killing all but 1 squad of the monks. I dont think that the PKs got more than 1 kill each game.
