Re: Tournament Armies Played
Updated my OP with
Quote:
I felt Cyp was the best overall hero for this format, and included the Repulsors as protection against Glads, but my Cyp was Chilling Touched to death in the first match by my brother's Cyp. Kato and the Ashigaru were my other army, and I chose them for their easy OM management-I knew that all I had to to was put (almost) all my OMs on Kato, and I could use the Ashigaru to soften up the opposing Immortal, then switch to Kato for the killing blow with out risking losing out on any turns. My plan worked perfectly (capably handling X17+Glads/Blasts and Eltahale+Orcs), until in match 4 CyborgJustin hit a 19 with his Cyp (he was out in full force that day-8 out of 19 players fielded him). |

Re: Tournament Armies Played
2 more tournaments- 1st was a home tournament with 8 friends. I took first, beating my sister, then a neighbor, then bassistofDoom. I used 10th x4 and 2 hydras for 545 points.
Another was the Christmas Chaos tournament. I came in 8th with wins to Clancampbell, Justine, and bassist of Doom and losses to Kid scaper and Arcus, the winner of the tournament. I played 10th reg x3, Krav, Airborne elites. (what's up with the 10th reg? I've played them at all 3 of my tournaments! |

1,000 point pool, games were played with various point totals, usually 500. I only recorded the First Day and the Finals (in blog entries) First Day: Game 1 - Captain America, Krav, Stingers x 3; Games 2 & 3 (Game 3 was a 3-player FFA) - Tor-Kul-Na, Nagrubs x 2, Raelin RotV, Eldgrim, Isamu http://www.heroscapers.com/community/blog.php?b=945 I won all these games and enough of the games I played on subsequent days that, although I didn't play for most of the latter half of the series, I was already assured of a position in the Finals. Mid-way through the series, we were given the opportunity to sub in 500 points. I had, by that time, come up with the idea of the Valhalla Society and, after much thought (chronicled in various blog entries), removed the Krav, AE, Stingers and the Marro Warriors from my pool. Finals: Captain America, Deathreavers x 2, Raelin RotV, Syvarris, Kyntela http://www.heroscapers.com/community/blog.php?b=1171 Lost to Rich10's Braxas, 4th x 4 (490 points, eschewing 10 My bad, not keeping track of my win/loss record in this series. Grishnak could probably reconstruct it, as he ran the series (kudos to him for that, by the way). ![]() When I build an army in Delta/Delta+, it just feels right! |

TotalCon 2011 Championship: Army: Isamu, Marro Stingers x6, Raelin The Kyrie Warrior (RotV) (450pt./450pt.) Wins: Bengi, ollie, Taeblewalker Losses: nyys Results: 4-1 Place: 2nd/18? TotalCon 2011 General Wars: Army: 10th Regiment Of Foot x3, Guilty McCreech, Zelrig (440pt./450pt.) Wins: Taeblewalker (by forfeit), Tomcollins2000, warlordofthewolves Losses: SuperEsenwein Results: 3-1 Place: ?/16? Overall Record: 87-46-1; 65.4% win rate Besides doing crappy in the flying event, I'm really proud of myself in the Heroscape tournaments at Totalcon (very proud with SW). I'm not sure where I stand on my competitive Heroscape career, I'll probably just keep moving on like I have been. There will probably be less events due to the discontinuation of the game, but I'll try to still keep an often appearance. Whether I go to future tournaments with more casual army selections or keep the way I've been playing (I don't feel like trying the third option - try to reach that 70% win rate and play super competitive all the time, trying to go consecutive undefeats or 4-1s. It's too stressful and hard, especially with the dice in this game), I've proved to myself that I can hold a solid 65% win rate. Last edited by Cleon : February 27th, 2011 at 08:27 PM. |
