Thank you for letting us know. I was just about to put that map together this weekend.

Jungle of the Ancients is going to be the best map I've said NO to as a BoV judge. I'm sorry to say that, because this really is a gem. I love the look and play, I love the cover and choices, the roads, etc. are all very well laid out. An excellent map. Except, yup, you saw that coming...

I still feel the glyphs are fairly his and hers. I'm concerned about the Raelin perch just outside the start zones. Getting rocked into your start zone is incredibly painful on this map. The water mixed with the wall is a bit too restrictive on each side of the map. Zelrig has some fairly nice early positions, there are some gaps in the build, the edge palm trees are unstable, and the map does not move/transport easily (these last few are small things, imo, but add to the others listed).

Anyhow, I really like this map. I hate saying no to a map that has already been revised and that I like as much as I do this one. But I just don't feel like it is quite there. This is as close, imo, as a map can get to the BoV level and not make it.

I regretfully vote NO to induct Jungle of the Ancients.

(And I'm very curious to see what my fellow judges have to say, since I feel this one truly is close--and at least one map I voted down is in the BoV already. We'll see...)

I don't understand the restriction in parentheses. This set has far less terrain then BftU and allowing people to use two would allow for more symmetrical maps with the Warehouse Ruin.

Jungle of the Ancients by Angear
This is the second version submitted of this map. I won't go into great detail about it like I did in my original write up because my feelings are still the same. I really like this map, but I still feel the glyphs just aren't in the right place. Another 2 hexes and I think I would definitely vote yes. As it stands I vote NO to induct.

Shrine of Mo-Ne-Ca by tannergx
Shrine of Mo-Ne-Ca requires quite a bit of materials to build: SotM, FotA, RttFF, and TJ. It's a pretty sweet looking map when built. There's a castle on one side of the map with t-glyphs underneath. I love the flavor of the traps on the t-glyphs! The move glyph is directly behind the castle. The defense glyph is ont he other side by the hive which for the most part blocks LOS to it.

I had quite a few fun games on this map but unfortunately with most castle maps, whoever had range and made it to the top first won every game. I think this would be a great scenario map but not a tournament styled map. I vote NO to induct into the BoV.

I've been meaning to say this for a while, but never really got around to it.

I would like to thank the judges for the time spent reviewing my map. I've taken your comments into consideration, and might get around to editing the map. Then again I'm also busy working on new maps, so if I ever do get around to editing, it might not be for a while.

Nope. RotV only counts as a Master set, never as multiple expansions.

Thank you for making the nomination. However, I vote NO to review Post Maneuvers. While I can tell this is a very fun map for casual play, it also has the potential to bring out the worst in a competitive environment.

The map rewards flying units (and the AE) and will benefit ranged units. This kind of set-up also lends to wins by points or to turtling or defensive posturing. Once a position is gained there is almost no desire to give it up (unless forced by point differentials, which personally bothers me). There is also some of a his/hers design to the map (though the use of elevation and walls helps mitigate this).

Anyhow, this is definitely a map that I'd love to play on. I'd absolutely love to do a draft game on this map, but I worry that a competitive environment would bring out the worst in what is otherwise a stellar map.

Congrats, Panopticon! You have brought our first Battle for the Underdark map to the BoV--and, iirc, the first with built-in Treasure Glyph traps. A fun map, for sure. Thanks for making it (and to Freezie for nominating it).

I've finally got a moment, btw, the have added Burial Marsh to the Display Thread of the BoV and to the initial list at the beginning.

I also went ahead and added a second spoiler list to the first post in the Display Thread, so that there is both a list by terrain requirements and one that just has them in order of acceptance. Hope this is helpful.
