Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories - Ho! Ho! Ho!
Fun stuff!
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories - Ho! Ho! Ho!
Thanks! My rep gun is dust for most of the heroes, but I was able to find a couple to tag (and there are several folks that should be set on AutoRep, if such a capability existed
I'll download the pics from my camera and work sometime tomorrow to post some of the battle pics. Post-battle report -- the entire Battery system used for the Lanterns really presents a lot of difficult choices during play, which makes these guys so much fun to play. I'll need to give the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents a more fair shot. Echo was really a fun unit with two brilliant mechanics. And Punisher. He didn't get to give his full arsenal a workout, but I'll want to give him another run. The destructible object rule I created for the cars was interesting, but too complex to use if more objects are added. My intent was to create something where it wasn't simply a silly junk-tossing fest, or where a figure could simply pick up an object and simply carry it around forever. Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories - Ho! Ho! Ho!
Yeah, you'll have to give Punisher more play. I've used him a ton and get the most out his AR, especially with height and the Rocket vs. special defenses or heavy hitters.
Here's a tip, when using AR, if Punisher only has height on 1 opponent, attack that one first to get a starting attack of 5 to subtract from for other attacks. Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories - Ho! Ho! Ho!
Mike: "Hello, Sports Fans! My name is Mike, and I'm coming to you live from Times Square in New York City! I'm so excited, because we're going to have a spectacular battle here to celebrate the release of C3G's latest wave: Fight Against Fear!
"I seem to be early, as David, Bob, and Sock Puppet haven't arrived yet. In fact, I'm here by myself at the moment. But it will be worth missing Christmas with my family to bring this battle to you. Looking down on Times Square, it seems they haven't even begun clearing the streets for the battle. There's a lot of traffic and people milling about. I must be really early. Anyway, why don't I go down to the street and interview some people? Be right back!" ... Mike: "Ok, I'm here at street level. Excuse me, sir? Could I have a word with you?" Man (taking out switchblade): "Gimme your wallet! Now!" Mike: "Sir, we're on the air!" Man: "I don't care. I'll cut you, man!" (reaches into Mike's pocket, snatches wallet, and runs off) Mike (stifling a cry): "Enjoy the upcoming battle! Yes, you can just feel the electricity in the air. Oh, there's a police officer! Excuse me, officer! Can I have a word with you?" Officer: "Move it along." Mike: "No, I'm broadcasting the upcoming C3G battle. I wanted to get your thoughts on what you expect, and also to report a stolen wallet." Officer: "The C3G battle was yesterday. It was a great battle that went down to two people. Man, I don't expect I'll ever see another battle as exciting as that. That kind of action only comes around once in a lifetime. If I had missed it, I would probably hate myself for the rest of my life. But, I didn't, and neither did most of New York City!" Mike (turning red): "Well, there's also the matter of my wallet..." Officer: "Buy yourself another. Welcome to New York City! Now move it along, or I'm going to have to write you a ticket." Mike: "I wonder if anybody left any pictures?"
Spoiler Alert!
And a special thanks to quozl and the C3G Map Department for the X Marks the Spot map, which inspired this setting. Last edited by davidlhsl : December 29th, 2010 at 02:36 PM. Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories - Ho! Ho! Ho!
Awesome pix David. That looks like a typical comic throw down in the middle of Times Square. Lots of chaos, mayhem and destruction. Love the use of the car.

Fantastic story, David. Could it have been any more exciting? I doubt it.

Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories
Whens the SHelmAVerse tourny staring up? I enjoyed the last one. (even though my team lost). Perhaps you should let everyone guess before it starts and have some incentive for the winner? (idk what it could be but it would be fun even just to be named the winner)

Re: davidlhsl's Battle Stories
I have some units in mind that I know will see play (Dr. Strange, Azrael), but I haven't gotten around to putting the teams together. I want to polish my other thread before getting started here.
One serious hijack in my time is that I recently purchased the entire 6-season Lost series on DVD. I completely missed it when it was on the air, and this has me glued! I've also been playing GreyOwl's Star Wars customs lately. The upcoming tourney will be a more modest 7-game affair, so Lost won't get in the way.
