Customs. Obviously that only works after you can save, but the ability to enter a custom along with your collection would be pretty awesome. Bonus points if you can choose special powers from a drop-down (for those instances where your custom reuses a standard power, like Flying or Disengage).

You should not read this blog.

This is a small change, but how about adding the add/subtract from army buttons to the scrolling list for speedy army building.

Wish granted.

Also made the buttons a touch larger so they're a little easier to click. I'll have a more complete list of changes on the Battleplan blog later today.

Wow thanks. Its such a small think but it'll make building armies so much faster.

I just want to assure everyone that both of these features are in the works. Of the two, the collection management feature will be available first, which we are hoping to release no later than June. The reason it isn't sooner is because we have some other cool things coming down the pike--some of which you will see between now and late June--and we want to make sure we get things of to a right start regarding account management.
I've been thinking about this a lot. It raises some interesting implementation issues.

Where should you store this information? If on the server, then the complexity of creating a login system with username and password etc is introduced.

Then it occurred to me. If battleplan supported save/export and upload/import to and from csv, then it would address this functionality and a lot more!

Not only could you save and load armies/collections, but you have the ability to manipulate the data directly in a spreadsheet tool, save as csv and (re)import into battleplan!

No server-side save needed!

All of the saved data can be on the user's computer in the form of csv files.

Just a thought... Figured I'd throw it out there.

A good idea, for sure, and something we'll definitely consider adding to Battleplan. Being able to take your data from one system and archive it or put it into another system is an idea that we certainly believe in. From my perspective, that proprietary, vendor lock-in nonsense has done more harm than good, and we'd like to stay away from it.

It is true that an account system adds a level of complexity, but the benefits in this case will be enormous. We have some pretty exciting things planned, and a user account system will pave the way to them. User accounts are something we've been wanting to add and been building up to since I created Battleplan, and certainly something everyone--at least indirectly--has wanted, so we're glad to finally be working on rolling it out.

Suggestions are always welcome, so keep the ideas flowing, everyone, and we'll see how we can work them into the battle plan for Battleplan.

Great program, I am looking forward to the collections addition that's going to make it a lot easier. I would also like to vote for:

Offline operation.
Synergy Hyperlinking.
C3G Units

Keep up the great work guys.

Cheers

C3G would be awesome! I also still want the ability to turn units on and off. But I know that's probably in the works.
