A lot of people also use the SEARCH function.

I used to play runescape, lvl95. Now that i'm older, I see it for what it is, a kid's game. I liked it well enough back then, but now I only get on every few weeks/months to see what Jagex is up to. I got bored of it. The big pain was the controls, the point and click movement seemed a bit primitive. The new runescape seems better, but i will need some major changes before i start again.

I played as well. I was a level 91 when I quit (after 2-3 years of playing I think it was), but I think I am actually a level 90 now because they added a new combat skill.

The only thing that drove me away was the trade restrictions. there were a couple things I didn't like before/after that, but I could definitely live with them. But the trade restrictions more than pushed me over the edge. Runescape jumped the shark at that point.

Jagex did a lot of things right, to be sure, but a couple major mistakes (in my opinion) like that really ruined it for me.

Really is a shame how they butchered the trading system though. I haven't touched the game in like 3 years now, probably.

I used too, then got bored of it. Guild Wars is better, to me Runescape is just naother crppy game.

I used to play too, and got to level 92. The way they changed the weapons was lame. They now look like toys, not instruments of war.

I used it, but for some reason all I really did was mine. I was certain that if I could mine the Rune Stone or whatever, I'd become a millionaire.

Heh, that would take a while. I can't remember exactly and I don't feel like checking, but I think I have about a mil sitting in my bank, about 2 or 3 mil in items (might even be less. When I quit I probably had about 5 or 6 mil worth of items, but things like the abyssal whip continually plummeting in price really lowers that), and I had about 10 mil invested in my house/construction level (which was almost 70 I believe).

Funniest part is, I don't even remember how I got that much. Some of it would have been using alchemy on battlestaves (you raised like 5 skills and got like 1500 gold per battlestave if you did everything from scratch like I did), some of it was probably collecting and selling vials from the general store in one of the towns, and I think I might have made some money making/selling planks.

Mainly the whole "no trading 2,000 coins outside of 'market value'" thing (and to a lesser extent the addition of the Grand Exchange).

Basically it made it impossible to give people gifts or do favors for people and stuff. It just ruined a lot of the social aspects of the game for me. It was just really poor decision making and I could tell that it (and the Grand Exchange) was kind of a shark-jumping point for Runescape.

I hate the trade system too, that's what made me and everybody I know persnally quit playing. Jagex became so worried about people cheating and making realworld/in-game side profits that they made it a Communist economy.
Since I was predominantly a merchant it messed up my business. On top of that my clan could no longer have a treasury or armory because items couldn't be traded for free. I also didn't like a lot of the reforming of the Wilderness to make sure people weren't using it to transfer items. It messed up Clan Warfare and PKing.
The cheaters didn't mess up the economy and such as much as the changes that they made. If I where them I would have ignored the cheaters and just made sure everybody else was having fun. I know I no longer am.
