Before criticizing, please read the whole first post.

I realize there are a lot of projects right now to expand custom heroscape gaming. However, the vast majority of them focus on comics customs or star wars customs, or a custom project for a specific race. I'm not saying this is a bad thing at all. I'm saying that with the recent and upcoming releases of D&D, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing much, if any, classic scape this year. I want to put together a group of individuals that will step forward and continue with classic scape, at least until we get more official classic scape. I propose that we do this with figures from Dungeons and Dragons (for the fantasy aspect, but not to represent D&D characters) Mage Knight (for both the fantasy and futuristic aspects... I'm looking at YOU golems) Star Wars (for generic looking characters) and any reasonably cheap minis we can find. I will post an idea in a bit.

I will not declare myself the permanent leader either. In fact, I would like to make this project a democracy. Anyone is free to join, but until we get enough members to vote for a leader, I will be leader. After there is a new leader, we will starting choosing who is to make customs. For now, anyone is free to do so. I hope that you, the reader, will consider joining this group.

First example of a figure to edit, and then playtest.

Remember me? Anyway I'm not sure if this is what your going for, but I have made several units to expand classic. Most notably, IMO, I made generals for the Moltarns, Zombies, and a series of Kyrie for Vydar. Most of these use dnd minis. Though a few are repaints. If you would like to look at what I have my customs are linked below.

Hey Venom.

I for one would love to see some organized classic custom system like they used to have in the good old days.

The problem appears to be getting people playtesting figures.

I would propose that there are already a ton of existing quality customs out there in the classic area that probably just need to be playtested and tweeked until they could be usable. It may be better to focus the energy (if there is any in the community) on those customs versus trying to start from scratch.

I think the main issue you will run into is that most people are prett happy with DND Scape and for the most part feel it is filling the Classic Void for now...as such...there isn't a huge draw to make customs as we are activly getting new product. Not the case for the Marvel folks...hence 3CG.

You're welcome to join if you'd like. But I would like to only use cheap, or easy to access minis with no custom making required. Your Balor and kyrie 2.0 would be awesome to put in this project. Of course, you'd have to allow playtesting and tinkering for your units. I want this to make units that are just as playable as official as real heroscape units.

I enjoy creating and testing figures. My problem is that I do not have time to regularly playtest units. I can critique and suggest units. I think your best bet is instead of creating completely new units start perfecting ones that people have already made.

Of course I'd allow tinkering with the units. I've been trying to get some suggestions on them since I joined. Also, I think you mean 1.0, 2.0 was the repaint.

I think you'd be better off making a leader out of someone who can do more actual playtesting. Also, with your champions why do you need to state that their range can't be increased. The only way to increase range is with the glyph (can't recall the name) and that specifies that it only increases the range of figures with a range of four or greater.

That may be true. I also thought that something may increase range in the future.

It is fairly easy to picture a "bow" treasure glyph. One other thing. Given that they fight with a sword instead of a gun I would consider changing the name of the power to "Deadly Strike" like Migol and the minions have.
