Has anyone played this game? It looks REALLY neat. It's oop now, and going for fairly cheap on Ebay, but I wanted some insight before I bought it. The reviews on bgg didn't help that much.

From what I know already, it uses the same mana system as Duel Masters did, which I find very neat. Aside from that, it looks similar to mtg, well, as similar as it can be for the card mechanics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

played it for a while, still go for a couple of quick games now and then.

it's a fun game, it shares many mechanics with MtG, but the unique elements grant a different gameplay.
it's quite difficult for me to explain some concepts in a language that's not Italian, even if I understand English quite well, so please excuse me if my writings will be a bit obscure...
the major difference in gameplay is due to the unique structure of Abominations. an Abomination is a creature made up of 2 to 5 Minions. once Abominations fight, you'll assign damage from top to bottom, eventually removing Minions that received damage equal to their strenght. so, sometimes you can play a Minion card but won't to, because putting it in that position (layer) of the Abomination would not grant the most benefits. add the fact that many Minions have abilities that trigger only if played over Minions of certain type, or that certain Minions can be played as first ones only, or prevents to play other Minions above them, and you'll understand that choosing when to play a Minion can be a tricky decision.

the worst aspect of the game is that you can set up a defensive-only game, and this usually pay, expecially if you don't have so many cards and/or you're not part of a large group of players to share strategies and decklists.

btw, I think is a good game, fun to play and with a great *sick* background. getting a couple of boxes at some bargain on the web could be worthy, expecially if you don't have to pay for intercontinental shipping...
