HeroScape for Dummies

I'm trying to teach my dad how to play HS and I don't know where to start.
I saw the "Intro to Heroscape for the HeroClix Player" article and it got me thinking (I do that sometimes you know).
Anyway, I was thinking:

Someone should make a "Heroscape for Dummies" type thing for new players.
And by "new players" I don't mean Clix Players.
I mean REALLY new players who still consider playing a game of "Monopoly" as "Gaming"! (Run! Shield your eyes children!)
That may be a bit extreme, but I think you get my point. After all it'd be a "For Dummies" book.

Then I had another idea:
Maybe a certain Online HeroScape Community with experienced players should write "HeroScape for Dummies".

Hmmmm....... What do you guys think?

Heroscape for the Normal Person...

Sounds like an good idea, though I doubt many "clueless" players would know where to find it.

And anyway, the game does come with a rulebook...

Ah yes, but it would be a book with the rules, explanations of the rules, answers to common arguments, strategies, good buys; the list could go on and on.

I love the idea! But if you just want to teach your dad the basics, play the basic side of the card. Play a few games like that and then when he gets it - flip 'em over.

I have come to find that Geoff Keighley is everything that is wrong with the videogaming community.

My only problem with this idea is that...the rules are written for 8-12 year olds, and the master rules only fill 10 pages. If that's not already a bare-bones, "for dummies" version, then I don't want to see one.

I'd love a supplemental book with the things you've mentioned, but that would actually make a LESS handy, simple guide to the game than the main rule book. Maybe I don't grasp the 'for dummies' concept, but what you suggest sound more like "the Thinking Man's Guide to Heroscape" or "The Complete* Guide to HS" or maybe...a Heroscape Codex?

*and "complete" would be obsolete by the time the next wave came out.
