Welcome aboard!

We’re glad you’re here. Heroscapers.com is a great place to be and there are all sorts of fun things I want to introduce you to in this post. One of the things that makes this community so nifty is the helpfulness and respect with which we treat one another. We politely request that while you are here you:

-Treat others with respect. Give high regard to the thoughts and feelings of those who will be reading your posts. In effect this will preclude swearing, name calling, offensive posts, pictures and links and a variety of other behaviors that all your family friendly places frown upon.

-Try to contribute in a positive way. Offer your friendliness, creativity and insight to make this community a better place.

-Show restraint. We are pleased to consistently have top notch content here and to have many members who are dedicated to keeping it that way. You can be part of that by really thinking about how necessary a new topic is before you post it, and this goes double for polls. When a large number of new topics and polls are generated that have very little quality content it can be extremely frustrating to members who now have to try to weed through masses of irrelevant stuff to find the threads that actually have solid, on topic content. Don’t create a post just because you’re bored – polling the community as to whether Jotun or Krug has cooler pants will generate more anger than interest. The standard that has to be met by a post in an existing thread is a lot lower, but try to keep it relevant and interesting.

Bannings do happen, but the administration is comprised of a bunch of rabid free speech fans so they tend to be rare. Take any warnings you get seriously and always remember that posts are often taken in ways other than they were intended - so give others the benefit of the doubt if there is more than one way to understand their meaning. If you are curious to read more of the board's rules of conduct, the topic is treated in far more detail here: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...read.php?t=273

So now you’re wondering about where all the fun things are, right? Well let’s start with telling you about the super secret hangout board for ‘Scapers age 17 and younger (this, by the way, is a great place for that poll on whether Jotun of Krug has cooler pants). If you want a place you can go and post without getting your spelling corrected by a bunch of old guys, PM an Admin for admission.

Got rules questions? Official Rules and FAQs awaits. In addition to an astonishingly brilliant cast of thousands just waiting to answer your post, there is a compilation of most of the questions that have been seen and discussed over the last couple of years here: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...read.php?t=556

Are you Creative? Does thirty minutes alone with a pencil and a pad of paper produce art? Did you see the hexes and have a thousand maps spring to mind? Is there a perfect miniature statue you saw at the hobby shop the other day that would make a stunning Heroscape conversion? If so you probably want to spend some time browsing and contributing to the Custom HS Creations sections. A good thread to get you started on your road to glory and the admiration of your peers is here: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ead.php?t=5438

Did you have a killer army you just had to share or need ideas on how to fine tune one for future victory? Competitive Armies Discussion is the spot for you! Check this thread out for one man’s opinion on the efficacy of every figure in the game: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ead.php?t=6171

Were you looking for local opponents? An opportunity to meet someone new and grind them into the dust? Meet Other Scapers is your destination, followed closely by Events and the variety of opponents only a get together offers. One thing many of us do is standardize our location info for ease in getting together. You can read about how to be located like the cool kids here: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...read.php?t=242

While it is both easy and common to link directly to the threads, don't forget to check out the homepage periodically for the latest breaking news, updates and podcasts: http://www.heroscapers.com/

And that’s really only a sample. Here’s a few more links to highly useful stuff:
