Re: Rectangular C3G cards, updated 5.6.16 (Wave 25)

You can laminate an entire 8X11 sheet then make your cuts. The trick is finding a sweet spot for purchasing the appropriate thickness so the pages can be thick enough for wear and tear but thin...

Re: Rectangular C3G cards, updated 5.6.16 (Wave 25)

I purchased a $20 8x11 laminating device from Amazon Basics and was able to laminate everything through wave 25 for around 30.00 total-device, laminate sheets-less color ink.

Just a continued...

Re: Oklahoma Heroscape - January event

HoSS and after 100p fine. 600-800 sounds like a sweet spot. So long as teams can bring two armies the roll off is kosher.

Re: Oklahoma Heroscape - January event

I'm open on everything except army choice. As we've done reverse the whip at the last few outings, I think just picking two armies and playing a 2v2 setup should be kosher. Are we still on for the...

Re: Oklahoma NHSD 2013

Also by same figure and army cards I assume we mean you can field the same unit in your two armies but you must have duplicates of said figures in case they are both used in any given round, yes? Or...

Re: Oklahoma NHSD 2013

I'd be more than willing to allow VC for this tournament. It's well within the spirit of the community.

Re: Oklahoma NHSD 2013

I can confirm prizes - I'll sponsor some gift chips to Games HQ for the top three places.

Re: Oklahoma NHSD Heroscape - 10/20/12 - Maps and Prizes add

Yeah I will be there and square with terrain at 100pm: I'll likely have a guest player in tow. I hope that won't muck up the spread. Also, did we decide on one or two armies?

Re: Recommendations for Good Board Games with Solo Play?

Tom Jolly's Cave Troll is good for a lark if you use the alernate "play the card you draw" variant and the game itself requires little setup and few rules to digest. If you're really interested in...

Re: Looking for a board game that plays like Heroscape

You can pick up a pdf copy of "Way of War" for a fairly inexpensive cost. It will allow one to make custom stats and armies for your heroscape figures and allows for mixing and matching with other...

Re: Games you want but know you will probably never play :-(

Claustrophobia seems like a great title - profoud theme, emmaculate bits, great run time - but I play heroclix so rarely that when it's just me and another pal I'd almost always sacrifice my time...

Re: What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?

In addition to a quick round of Mad Zeppelin and Ghost Stories (new house rule: only one cooperative per night until the industry trend subsides - I need to sate my desire to kill and win) the usual...

Re: Anti-Range Units - Theory & Application

My (albeit more limited) experience has born out the value of a high movement, stealth variable and "hail mary" save as the fail safes for an array of anti-range scenarios. To this end, Cyprien seems...

Re: Quality Controll for D2 much improved

Re: Hasbro likes building boards with hexagons...for Monopol

Wife and yours truly are strolling through a TRU last night looking for toy ideas (got a two year old with a birthday on the horizon) and she made the same observation; world's full of games and half...

Re: Good Game/Crappy Components vs Bad Game/Great Components

My only advice would be use paper and pencil (or print up little faux ledgers) for the money as using the actual monopoly mafia money proves a bit cumbersome. When I win the lottery (I said when!)...

Re: Good Game/Crappy Components vs Bad Game/Great Components

You know this ugly Ameritrash American chose to eschew Puerto Rico in favor of Blood Feud in New York and I've never lived to regret the decision. Take your precious, bloated BGG rating, sir! I've...

Re: Good Game/Crappy Components vs Bad Game/Great Components

The first game that lept to mind was the Halo Interactive Boardgame (I just this week picked up two copies at TRU for eleven bucks a pop: who's your daddy now double dip recession?). While the game...
