Re: Sun Tzu, The Art of War, and Heroscape

To do it right wouldn't you really need to do away with order markers? I think that would really capture the feel of a limited central government.[/quote]

Ah, to the contrary, the authors of...

Re: Sun Tzu, The Art of War, and Heroscape

I am still waiting for a proper analysis of Heroscape sourced in an in depth reading of The Federalist Papers.

Re: Aquilla ~ Hinted from the Begining

Mates, I would not be so sure the reference is to Aquilla. Remember - Utgar, Jandar, and the rest are no longer kyrie generals. All Kyrie who can drink from the Wellsprings and then summon warriors...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

Sparedon-

I think there are several heroes who have considerable utility despite the squad-centeredness of this game.

Kaemon Awa is a prime example of such. I know of few squads or units who...

Re: Some Action in the Faction Section

IAmBatman-

This took a lot of work, and I am quite impressed with it all. Indeed, you have written so much that I am afraid my response will miss many of the thoughts that were prompted by your...

Re: Zombie Survival- What would your equipment be?

I am surprised no one has mentioned a shark suit yet. If sharks cannot bite through, zombies defiantly cannot get through. There is your best battle wear right there.

Re: The Book of the Capuan Gladiators

I played a game with these guys yesterday, and I have to say I was very impressed with their performance. Inspired Crixus is a beast. Of course, Crixus has always been a beast, but give him that...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

I think it is fair to say that I am not the first type of 'Scaper you highlight. I see much of myself in your second description and a little of myself in the third.

So, I guess I can call myself...

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?

I am reading (or just finished today) three books at the moment:

Carnage & Culture by Victor Davis Hanson

Osman's Dream by Caroline Finkel

The Ottoman Empire and the World Around It by...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

Sparedon-

A few thoughts.

I have often found that units like Zelrig and Mimring are most useful in their unique ability to make the enemy scatter. Whenever one of the dragons comes out, their...

Forgive me for backtracking a bit and addressing a topic you brought to this thread while I was camping. A few pages ago, you stated:

Re: The Ticking Clock: Not Exactly Ticking

A coupl'a weird things here:

*The Mayan civilization, at its maximum extent, did not cross far out of the Yucatan. That is in North America.

*The Mayans never saw Cortez- he conquered the...

Re: Is Ron Paul Going Insane?

I find it amusing that the Nation folks criticize Obama for being a carbon copy for Bush, while the National Review folks hate on Obama for being being the leftist Devil incarnate.

For what it is...

I like Clarissimus' strategy (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=17987) for Dund the best.

Re: What's for dinner?

I am not so sure about this. One could note that the societies with the lowest level of vegetarianism (developing nations, Brazil, Japan) are the ones most exposed to their food and the ways in which...

Re: What's for dinner?

I have little qualms about what I eat, as long as it does taste good. My reaction upon seeing the consumption of live Sashimi (http://www.mutantfrog.com/2009/04/27/a-history-of-violence/) was simply,...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

Aye, this is true. But then again, I never claimed that it did take into account your fourth point, did I? ^_^

I do think the two advantages are related. So lets add a corollary to the postulate:...

Re: The Book of Wolves of Badru

Kaemon-

They do not count against Cyp's chilling touch. The chilling touch only applies to units Cyprien destroys, while the Badru power states that "you" (the player controlling the Tiggers)...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

I am unsure if this addresses the issues Sparedon raises.

Beyond the ability to kill someone before they can attack you, Sparedon says ranged units have four special advantages over melee types....

Re: Capuan Gladiator Discussion Thread

Not true at all.

Let us take an average G'nator build - G'nators x3, Raelin, Nakita, and Otanishi/Guilty - for an example.

The G'nator army is faster and will probably get the height...

Re: The Book of Wolves of Badru

I played a Badru army last night, and was stunned by how effective they were.

By the looks of it I gamble quite a bit more than most of the folks here seem willing to do -- I pounced every...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

I don't know, no matter what you're always going to have good and bad units. Making one better (or more competitive) will make another less so. As one unit becomes a B, another drops to a C and so...

Re: 100% Theoryscape

To address Sparedon's question-

There are a couple of units I wish I could tweak just a little.

One of them is the Gorillanators. I really like the G'nators stats, and feel that they are in...

Re: Case Study - Stingers versus 'Squad Killing' Heroes

Interesting exercise. My concern is one that others have brought up already- this is a test in conducted in a vacuum. In a real game, these *heroes would have their own melee shield, and a support...

Re: Power Rankings - Another Scaper's Opinion

DA-

I would argue that comparing Kaemon Awa and Krug is a bit spurious; both play vastly different roles in the armies they are a part of. Kaemon Awa was not built to "run the board" -- he is a...
