Heroscapers - Need help on 3 player maps

My gaming group plays every weekend and I have just learned that next week one of our guys is dropping out. So that leaves us with 3 players. :( well anyway I am not that great at 3 player maps. Normally when I make them the middle guy ends up fighting a battle on two fronts. An almost instant loose for that person. Can anyone help me out. I am looking for something rather balanced. Something that doesn't leave one person fighting a battle on two fronts. I have an ROTV, RTTFF, TT, VW and I am using all the sand, swamp water and rock tiles from SOTM . Also I have some custom tiles. 2 -1hex tree tiles 2-2 hex tree tiles and 2-4 hex tree tiles along with 4-1 hex colums, 4-2 hex collums, a 7hex custom road tile that matches colums, and the marvel building. Can anyone help. There is not a lot out there for 3 player games. Thanks for everyone's input.
