It's been a year since I joined Heroscapers. I've done a lot in that time, but somehow I still feel like a newb. It seems only yesterday I was explaining why I made Torch, when really it was a year ago. I've been looking around at everything I've accomplished since I've been here. I'm not proud of it all, but I wouldn't change any of it. Here's a rundown of some of my favorite things that I've done during my short time here.

My custom units.



This was the first title of the first thread of the first custom that I posted here. This custom is balanced and fun, and still sees play quite frequently. I wish I can say the same for most of the other old customs, but while most of them weren't very good there were a few standouts, and this one stands out above them all. Well it's been awhile since I've made a new custom. I've really started to slow down and think through my units, as opposed to throwing them together in a day as I used to. I've started taking some old units down that I just aren't happy with. Anyway here is the new unit.

Scourge.


Basically I wanted a quick way to disperse swarms. The idea is to move up and take out as much as possible with Rapid Fire, then back out of range with Justice is Served. Originally I went with more of a theme based unit, with a more powerful special that only applied to Utgar and Valkrill, but it was far too situational, with a lot of extra baggage. So I went with a simpler rapid fire special attack. I still think it works out pretty well. He sneaks up to the enemy and opens fire. After he's done attacking "Justice is Served" and he leaves. The only thing I don't like...

I recently decided to try a couple new styles of customs. I hadn't done any customs for several months, and I wanted to try something different.



I'd always liked Atmospro's "are cards". In my opinion that's what separated the original custom makers from the new ones. The sheer amount of effort that he put into the cards just blew me away. So I thought I would make this as a tribute to his work. It's really just a remake of a very old custom, but I'm pretty proud of it. The whole thing took me about five hours to put together.



Comic books never really interested me. I liked the Marvel set, but that was for the mechanics more than the characters. After spending some time chatting with the C3G guys I took a bit more interest in them. So...

The brave and stupid rogue Chardar had reported back to his party of the dangers that lay within Goblin Canyon. He was too badly beaten to continue (DMing), so he returned to the town and his party continued on without him.


Suddenly Ryan the Samurai, Equa the Elf Archer, Cassie the Elf Warrior, Gasmask the scout, and BB the Dwarf Warrior were ambushed by the same group of Drow Bandits that had nearly killed their friend. A group of reptilian beings also attacked them, fearing for their forest home. Not trusting the minions alone the king of the forest, a Wyvren, swoops in to protect his forest home. A pair of scavengers hear the commotion and enter the fray, hoping to feast on the scraps.



The vipers frenzy into the group and immediately kill Equa in an incredible display of D20 rolls. The Drow...
