They say that warfare is the grandfather of invention. (or something like that) People are always searching for more ways to hurt each other, and so they devote their energies to developing more creative and unusual hideousness’s designed to destroy our fellow humans. One such nasty development is the ever-popular boiling oil.

Everybody knows that you couldn't be a somebody unless you had a castle or fortification of some kind. And everybody else knows that in order to become a somebody or to just get really neat stuff you had to break into someone else's castle- and so the age of siege tourism was born.

Every summer after the crops were planted, all the brave twelve year olds would march off behind some rich guy with a big mouth and they'd lay siege to someone else's big house, in hopes of getting really...

Last night we counted out the money we’d saved up in the Heroscape jar. There was over sixty dollars in coins, plus some bills. Enough for D2 in Canadian funds. My eldest son is suddenly on an orc rage and wanted to head down to the LGS and see if they had an orc pack left, as well to see if D2 was in yet, and check it out if it was. We had to pick up my daughter from her class (she’s working on her black belt) so we combined the trips.

The game store is at the mall so we usually look around and then also visit the Games Workshop store. We don’t go that often because looking and not buying is only fun so many times, and then it just gets depressing. But this time was going to be different- the Games Workshop store is closing and last night was its last night. We’d already asked if they were going to be having clearance specials and sales and they said no, they weren’t allowed. They’re hoping to open somewhere else cheaper than the mall.

My life is a little topsy-turvy of late but even though I'm distracted it doesn't mean I've missed some unusual occurrences at my house. As each thing happens I file it away in the back of my head. (I sure hope I don't have a hole back there). When I lay awake at night, unable to sleep, I pull out these mental files and go through them. And I've come to the conclusion that I have a Marr infestation. Here's why: 1. The swimming pool has turned green.


The water inside is now the same colour as the swamp water tiles. You can't really tell from the picture, but it's true. Why has this happened? It has never happened before. My younger son is afraid to go in it. Actually, we all are.

2. Laundry has been disappearing. I dry my laundry on a clothesline because it's free and I like it. But lately certain specific items have been disappearing with alarming...

I have become a cyborg of late; I don’t know if it’s a virus I picked up from someone else’s disc drive or whatnot, but I’ve played five games in a row with soulbergs as my only force. Classic scape too, without customization. What’s happened to me? I have to admit I love the Deathreavers. Not only are they cute but scatter is a beautiful thing.

A very kind person (choo choo!) gave me an extra Zettan squad- I know they’re unique, but bang bang bang! They look awfully nice all standing around DW9000, enjoying some range enhancement nookie!

Last night my children and I played 500 points vs. 500 points. It was a medium size map with heights, and two fortifications; also about one fifth of the map was ice and snow. Haha! Bring it on! Deathwalker 9000 doesn’t care about snow!

There were 10 glyphs on the map: 1 wound, 1 pit trap, 1 heal, 1 revive, four Brandars and two Thorians. The Brandars were nothing- just false alarms. It...
