Thread of the Week

For new players, one of the hardest parts of Heroscape is learning how to use the vast number of different figures out there. The Unit Strategy Review collection helps alleviate this problem by bringing some of the brightest minds together to run through the various strategies of each unit. Their newest release is on the Shades of Bleakewoode.

Did you know that trees are hollow? Nonexistantnonexister did not. He started a thread to declare just that. How did he come across this bit of wisdom? By chewing on the trees. Yes, the plastic trees from RttFF. The thread spun off into an absolutely hilarious and random lawl-fest. Here's the thread; hold onto your hats, folks, it gets ROFL-ly from here on out.

Back before Heroscapers.com, Bobbo created the Herospoofs as a way to poke fun at the various opinions and abilities of the units. Even though they may be old, they are still good for laughing out loud.

Jay Cain has contributed to our little community here by using his talents to build an outstanding Army Builder. It's very powerful, allowing you to see several statistics about your army and providing a variety of custom settings. Look for expansions and more features in Battleplan in the future!

The Books of Heroscape are a terrific resource for both old and new players. They are a great way to find a quick clarification of a special power or to discuss army and strategy choices. Recently, one of the founders of the idea of having the Books, revdyer, has posted a thread seeking community input on How to Improve the Books. Discuss the future of the Books and provide your own insight on how they can better serve the needs of 'scapers worldwide.

Marvel Spotlight: Sheer Awesomeness of the Week

This week we are doing a bit of an old, but very "cool," picture, Dr. Weirdscaper's The Conflict Heats Up. Most of us are familiar with Dr. Weirdscaper's Map Thread, and this picture is in the first post. If you're not fimiliar with this map or Dr. W's other massive creations, be sure to check them out.

Thread of the Week

A big part of Heroscape is the army you choose to bring to the table. Jexik has started two different threads for his PhD in Heroscape Studies, and both do with tournament armies and the units in them. In 4th> 10th, Jexik argues that the 4th Massachusetts line is superior to the 10th Regiment of Foot, as long as one follows these simple steps:
Critical Mass
Step 1: Collect 4th Mass.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: PROFIT

The Scenario Writers Guild started out a while ago with the goal of releasing fun scenarios for those looking for balanced games that go beyond the simple 'setup and kill' style of play many folks fall back on for lack of time or resources. The Guild took some time finding itself, which lead to a drop-off in participation. We still think it's a great idea, and are determined to rev it up again.

Here's what the guild leader has to say:
