Welcome to the New Heroscapers.com!

Let me start by thanking everyone that helped make the new site possible. A big thanks goes out to Xotli and funrun who have truly put in some long hours. There are many others, too many to name and still keep this brief, thank you all!

We are very excited about our many new features!

Some notable features include:

-Unified Log-In: no matter where you are on the site the site recognizes you under the same username. No need to type out your name and email address when making a front page comment and no need to log into the gallery, download or events sections separately.

-User Blogs: You’ll be able to be part of an entire heroscapers blog sphere. (Site Supporters only)

User Reputation: You’ll be able to gain reputation points as well as hand out reputation points when you see a post that impresses you. Simply click this icon: appearing at the top of the impressive post and tell us why you liked it. Reputation points will get you noticed among your peers and will be taken into consideration by the admins for a number of reasons, including acceptance into special groups like the ‘Contributors’ group. (see the IMPORTANT NOTE section below)

-User Control Panel: Among many other tools you’ll be able to subscribe to threads, develop a buddy list, develop an ignore list (you won’t see the posts of users on your ignore list), and set yourself event reminders.

-New Downloads Section: We’ve got a new downloads section. You can now edit files you’ve uploaded so that they are always up to date!

-New Gallery: We’ve got a new user friendly photo gallery. No more uploading photos to a hidden away folder where visitors will likely never see them. Finding a photo you are looking for should be a much easier task.

-New Events Calendar: You can now post your events and find events that others are hosting in your area. With the move of Heroscape to Wizards of the Coast we hope to see a lot more gamestore events happening, we hope to be the go to place for posting and finding those events.

SITE SUPPORTER SUBSCRIPTION
Site Supporter Subscriptions have changed a bit. A $15 donation makes you a site supporter for an entire year. A $45 donation makes you a site supporter for life with no need to ever renew. To become a site supporter you can make a paypal donation by going to your control panel and selecting 'paid subscriptions'.

Site Supporters are considered very special members. They are co-partners with the site in bringing all of this heroscapey goodness to the masses. Becoming a Site Supporter will get you a tag recognizing you as a supporter. Additionally, Site Supporters are granted:

• Unlimited picture and file uploading
• Eligibility for our fantastic giveaways throughout the year
• Your very own heroscapers blog
• All members have the ability to add points to another member’s ‘Reputation’ when they see something they like from that member, but only Site Supporters will be able to reduce another user’s reputation when they feel it is warranted.

We strive to offer quality, easy to navigate, content for Heroscape fans. We feel that those who are willing to partner with us are most likely to be the same members taking great care to make sure they keep things organized and of quality.


NOTICE to current Site Supporters: If you’ve donated a total of more than $30 to the site, you’ve already been added to the Lifetime supporters group. If you’ve donated less than $30 dollars, you’ve been given the discounted rate of a 6 month subscription for every $5 you’ve donated, the subscription length however started at the date of your LAST donation. So if you donated $5 back on October 30th, your subscription is going to expire on the 30th of this month. If you donated $5 back in August, your subscription has already expired and you are no longer a Site Supporter until you renew. If you think you are supposed to be a sites supporter but are not, please email me letting me know what email address you donated under.


IMPORTANT NOTE: All non-site supporters will still have access to view pictures and download files, but they will not be able to add pictures and files of their own. If you would like to be able to contribute quality and organized pictures and files but cannot afford to become a site supporter you can request permission to join the “Contributors” user group by going into your user control panel, clicking on Group Memberships (look for it at the bottom left of your control panel), and then selecting join group next to the ‘Contributors’ group and clicking the ‘join group’ button. If we accept you as a contributor you’ll be given limited upload permission for pictures and files.


NOTICE to current Gallery Contributors: Unfortunately we were unable to port pictures over from the old gallery to the new. We are asking that all gallery users move their own photos over and place them in the appropriate sections. We are leaving the old gallery section up HERE so that your links don’t all die on you and so that you can retrieve your old photos. You can no longer upload to the old gallery though. All new pictures need to be uploaded to the new gallery.


NOTICE to current Download Contributors: We have moved over the most popular downloads to the new site. The process that I have to go through to move a file over is quite tedious and there is no way that I alone can move over all of the files. So we are asking that you re-upload any files of yours that we were unable to get to. If you find we are missing one of your files that you find to be of importance and quality, AND you no longer have that file on your computer and so cannot re-upload it, you can PM me the file name and I will put you on a waiting list to have your file retrieved. Also you'll note that even if your file has been moved over here it may be lacking a preview image. Please try to help out by righting that.

SITE MEMBERS: You'll notice some of your avatars went away, you'll have to upload new ones, it just got caught in the transfer. Please ask any questions you have here and we will do our best to help you find your way around the new site.

For those of you who do not care for the narrow style if you navigate to forums and scroll to the bottom of the screen you'll see an option to select a style. You may select the style Heroscapers Wide to get a wider view. (This wider view will not apply on the front page or in the blogs.) This style is mostly untested so may have bugs in it.
