D&D Heroscape aka Master Set 3

A new master set has been announced for Heroscape. It is fully compatible with standard heroscape but it has the D&D theme attached to it. There will be an official campaign in the set as well as some new rules and new glyphs.

This set was worked on by Jerry, Chris, and I and was playtested by all of the original playtesters. There will be some good new heroscape in this box.

The D&D theme brings something to the table that many heroscapers have tried to incorporate into the game for a long time - A dungeon crawl experience.

Why is Wizards doing this? Is it a way to promote Heroscape players into playing D&D? I don't like this at all. If I wanted D&D miniatures I would buy them. I want Heroscape. If Wave 11 is going to include more D&D miniatures I'll probably stop buying.

I'm pretty sure it was the other way around. They want D&D players to pick up 'scape.

I'm not too crazy about this myself, but I'll see how it turns out.

I don't like this................ There better be a good explination for this. I hate D&D. Classic Scape better not stop or I'll quite.............. D&D Scape better be it's own branch....................

I'd agree with Iceman and people of his opinion, but if it didn't say it on the box and I wasn't told about the reused scults and such... I would have never known.

If its balanced with the rest of Scape and of the same point range I'll be fine with it and accept it as brilliant cross-promotion. The excitement of something new makes me go innocent till proven guilty. For the sake of Scape I hope it's great.

I feel the same way. No offense to all of you DnDers out there, but I bought Heroscape to play Heroscape. DnD should be DnD, not Heroscape. I love the classic Heroscape, and I really don't want to see DnD figures just clobber the classic. I've said before that I'm glad that Heroscape is definately not going under, but this seems like a incentive for DnDers to get into Heroscape.

The fact that the figures have the HS generals makes me feel that we'll see more of this.

If it's a doffrent branch liek Marvelscape, then I'm fine. I was just thinking. If it was another part of scape it wouldn't have D&D on it. I think maybe the main reson for the scaredness,me being one of them,is because Truth called it Master Set 3. They didn't call Marvelscape Master Set 2 when it came out.

Also because the figures following the Valkyrie Generals, and then the dark elves. I can see if they are from Feylund, but wonder if they aren't?

I think the black water tiles AKA 'pools of shadow' will have the power to render anyone in them invisible and thus can't be attacked but can attack themselves

The thing is I already own many of the figures included through my collecting of D&D miniatures. I don't like this one bit. You'd think Wizards would try and put some thought into Heroscape. I see already that Wizards will probably continue this. Look at special Wave 10, it's all repaints and a rerelease. Now they went and threw a bunch of already created figures into the bunch. I don't like how Wizards is handling Heroscape. I hate to say it but I see a grimm fate for Heroscape.

What's the big deal if it's ripped from D&D? They are still Heroscape-compatable figures with their own unique abilities and stats that can only progress the game. Honestly, the only reason I never got Marvel was because it seemed like it cheating us seeing that nobody takes the figures seriously by allowing them in tournaments. There is no reason to bar these guys because they're just some new components to the game. My only worry is price--I don't think it'd be worth it if they were over $25...
Bottom line, just give 'em a chance to prove they're useful.

1) Why is everyone complaining, DnD Heroscape means more DnDers will join us Scapers!

2) I'm interested to see ow these "Shadow Pools" will work

This actually looks like a good buy!

I think it looks awesome, and I will definitely get one. However, I am very against mixing the two games. I have no doubt that it's a quality product, but the games have very distinct styles. D&D, being Wizards' flagship product, has a much greater chance of influencing the feel of HeroScape than the other way around. I sincerely hope that this is either a one-shot deal or gets spun off into its own line.

I must say, though, that the terrain looks great and will add a lot to the existing game. Who else is going to turn those "shadow" tiles into bottomless pits?

OK thats it! You people seem upset by it though I don't quite understand, alot of you liked Marvelscape so whats wrong with a more REALISTIC version. As Truth said earlier, it will be playable with Heroscape which would mean that they won't be too weak or too strong, those of you who already have all these Dnd minis, tough! You can make them into Heroscape customs. How hard can it be to APPRECIATE the fact that Wotc are trying there best to save money while continuing to please alot of 'scapers and introducing more people to the world of Scape. So I thank you Wizards you've made my day with this and I salute you. And for those of you who don't agree, thats fine, I respect your oppinion, but don't get upset and complain. JUST DON'T BUY IT!
