I have come up with a unique scenario for Friday the Thirteenth 'Scape!, that requires rebuilding the map. The new map (to be built a few days before the game) will feature a central tower built around a stack of single hex pieces (probably Concrete terrain from the Marvel set) capped by a Molten Lava hex piece. The tower, and the small hill upon which it sits, will be a no-fly zone. Scattered about the rest of the map (where units may fly normally) will be little fortified areas representing high security laboratories, on Dungeon terrain, and several Treasure Glyphs.

The Treasure Glyphs (normally trapped, always remaining Power side down (unusable)) represent components of a Object of Power that may be constructed by dipping three of them into the Molten Lava at the top of the tower. I have started a new job and it is a strange job. It actually shouldn’t be a strange job; it’s an office and you’d think offices were the same everywhere. I seem to have landed in a bizarre place- perhaps that’s why there was a vacancy there in a city where there are no jobs?

On my first day I was shown to my cubical and abandoned. Really. No one came to tell me what to do; I was assigned no jobs or training. Fortunately for me I am never bored so I began writing on the computer. Eventually, in the afternoon, someone noticed me and gave me some menial job which took twelve minutes. The whole first week was like that.

But I am a fool, you know. Perhaps I should have been happy with that. Isn’t that what I’ve always wanted, free time? But no, I was frustrated- I have this ridiculous need to be of use.

WotC Blowout Wave 1 pack plus 2 additional squads of Venoc Vipers from Auggies came in the mail last week, just in time for our 600 point Viper-fest at chas' Game Palace.

Giving dok his due (see dok's distain), and given chas' punky Green Guardians



and his followup mostly Ullar armies, Q9 and company made my 3 squads of Vipers superfluous, for the most part. That I forgot to roll for Frenzy 99.9% of the time didn't help. Here is the map we played on, built with Slither in mind:
