Week @ Heroscapers, December 22

Image of the Week

Well, in the interest of the Holidays - or perhaps anti-interest? - we bring you this custom card of the infamous Grinch. Now on Christmas morning, after you've opened all your gifts, and you didn't receive anything new in the world of Heroscape, you can vent your Christmas frustrations by including the green miser in your army. Devastate your opponents by stealing the very essence of Christmas from them in your next game of 'scape today. But watch out! He's a mean one, that Mr. Grinch!

On the wake of the confirmed Wave 9 news, it might be prudent to remind the newbies (or maybe those who just forgot) of the fervor and fury of past wave release and speculation threads. Here are these threads about Wave 5's doubtful-looking release and another about the infamous "Shelf Pic". Wave 6 didn't get left out, either. Here's a link to a speculation thread about W6, much like the one we have for Wave 9 and the new Marro. These kinds of things have been going on for a while...but I don't think we'll ever stop.
Blog of the Week
Many Holidays are celebrated in the winter. Due to this, some 'Scapers are embracing their creative side and are writing about their chosen holiday. Revdyer has written A Christmas Story for the ages. "A Christmas Story" is written for RevDyer's Christmas Eve Church service, and he has been kind enough to share the story with us.
Scaper of the Week
This week's honored scaper is a well known member of the site, one who has been famed in the Curse of Ne-Gok-Sa, played in many a GenCon, won a copy of Risk Black ops, and most importantly, served his country. In Scaper of the Week 16 - Skyknight!!!! , Skyknight's interview tells the tale of how Heroscape saved his life, a tale we hear surprisingly often.
Special Mention
Keetacongoo has written a special poem to celebrate A Marrden Christmas.
"T’was the night before Christmas,
And all through the hive
Not a creature was stirring
Not one was alive
The hive stood there bare
Beneath the bright moon
And seldom a marro
Shook their cocoon.
It’s been long since they drank
And long since they’d fed
As visions of human flesh
Danced in their heads.
But for the spring,
They’d sure await
For as you know
They all hibernate."

Week in Review
This week brought us some AWESOME news about Wave 9. Wave 9 will be released in the Summer of 2009. Also included in the announcement was a concept sketch of a Marro figure. Members such as Grungebob and Skyknight have said that this wave is going to be outstanding and no matter which new units come out, I think that we are all pleased that Heroscape is alive and kicking, even through tough times like these. I think we all need a little time to digest this news and play some 'scape with our families, so we will be back on January 5, 2009.
Brought to you by Einar's Puppy, Keetacongoo, Heroscape Elffy, Pumpkin_King, Rym, S1R_ART0R1US, and The Silver Surfer.

Great poem! I also think the Grinch's power would not be a bad power to have on a real card.

I probably don't need to mention this, but people do know that that's not the entire poem
Just saying... |

That poem is ridiculous. It is good, but I am making a poem for the Chedwick and Sven comics that starts out like exactly the same way. That is frustrating. It takes a different swing after that but the beginning about nothing stirring is almost identical. I wonder if I still release it as is if people would mind.

I wouldn't mind it being released; any new Chedwick and Sven is good news.
