It Must Be Snakes! Battle Report
Well met!
WotC Blowout Wave 1 pack plus 2 additional squads of Venoc Vipers from Auggies came in the mail last week, just in time for our 600 point Viper-fest at chas' Game Palace.
Giving dok his due (see dok's distain), and given chas' punky Green Guardians
and his followup mostly Ullar armies, Q9 and company made my 3 squads of Vipers superfluous, for the most part. That I forgot to roll for Frenzy 99.9% of the time didn't help.
Here is the map we played on, built with Slither in mind:

Spoiler Alert!

Here are a few other Pics:

The last 2 armies I fielded were sleight variations of a couple of those in It Must Be Snakes!:
180 Q9
120 Nakitas (suggested by Filthy)
120 Vipers x 3
100 Wyvern
80 Raelin
600 17 spaces
150 Q10
120 Tagawa Samurai
120 VV x 3
110 NotNW
50 Brave Arrow
40 Theracus
600 21 spaces
The latter (also our final game of the evening) ended in our declaring it a draw. I'll leave it to chas to inform us, and remind me, as to what armies he played, and to elaborate on his moment of Acid Spray glory, as well as his disappointment with his Airborne Elite's Grenade Special Attack (even though he rolled mostly 2
s per attack).

K. played some great games. After losing the first three I had to abandon my Ullar-only forces to come up with more competitive teams. The fourth game was a tie, so that worked, but I lost the last one as well. Since abandoning his Valhalla Society (no firearms) self imposed restrictions, he's been bringing back the higher ranked units which we don't usually play, and they are tough to deal with! Thanks for building a great board, too. Most of the action was on the center island, but it the tie game we got to run around the edges as well.
K. has recently got some new lighting in his place (as I did a few months ago), so we can look forward to games there as well. I'm afraid I didn't keep the record of my teams, because K. carefully documented them with photos of my army cards each time... |
