The Last Battle of Valhalla

At first, there was nothing. The fabric of the dream seemed to undulate, like a black wave, rising and falling. And then, a voice, soft but strong, came out of the black. It spoke in the ancient language of the elves, the musical sounds flowing over the elf’s mind like water over fabric, and saturating it in what it said.

Thanks Onacara for the GenCon info. Even though I still have a credit with them for about half the price of a weekend ticket, I don't think I can afford the transportation and lodging costs again this year (my unemployment checks barely cover basic living expenses). &obtw: tell us about your experiences with last year's GenCon; was it worth it to volunteer as a facilitator and not just go as a participant?

Its different..you do not get as much time to explore the dealer hall or play in events...but it is a great experience teaching folks games you like and playing with them. Plus you get a good glimpse at the less glamorous side of a spectacle like GenCon. You do make a lot of connections though and there is plenty of time for gaming after the dealer hall closes. I'm going back again this year with AEG and am really looking forward to it. They are great people.

Me too! (only because I crave attention and want more people to read about my heroscaper-of-the-month interview so they can guess on the truth/lies part)

Well, yes and no. I am currently the only person doing the W@HSers, and was never particually interested in doing it in the first place. I didn't mind to help the original people who ran it, but then the job was dumped completely on me when I really didn't want it. (No offense to the guys who left. You had your reasons. It's just it happened all the sudden.)
The hardest part for for me is trying to do a write up for each link and such. Yes, it can take up to an half an hour to one hour to get a single W@HSers done in one setting, but I have to force myself through it. It would be easier on me to have some people find interesting articles and do a small write-up for it (and download accompaning pictures to this site), then I can take fifteen minutes to organize it all and send it to truth. Btw, this is part of the reason I passed along the SotW to AQT (and the SotW was a lot easier, too!) |
