Well met!
[Any similarities between this scenario and The Lost City of Ashra! are purely intentional.]
In the wake of the devastation wrought by the invaders in The Lost City of Ashra!, most notably by the giant Hydras and the traitorous Jotun, Warriors from the far reaches of the Land have banded together seeking vengeance. And, at last, it seems they shall have it, as they have found a Grove sacred to Utgar, defended by Giants (although not the same Giants
). But even the Warriors of Ashra are not immune to greed . . .

Start zone will be in gap on the right, between the platforms.

Start zone will be in gap (with Rock base) towards the left (between Pulveizer and Warhulk.

Zap Zone

4 players (the Gang of Four, naturally
) in 2 teams, with pre-made armies (the Elven Armies) of 500 points apiece (including no Marvel or customs, official or not, and no large/huge Utgar heroes).
List of large/huge Utgar heroes (copied from the Books) that may not be included in Elven Armies:
(teammates to be determined after army creation), each player's army to fill no more than 15 spaces, placed in 2 Start Zones (in this case, the 2 Dungeon 24-hexers and attached Dungeon 7-hexers), totaling 31 hexes each. Each player's army must contain, at no point cost (free), 2 squads of WoA, which take up 6 of his/her 15 spaces, leaving 9 for his/her 500 points. A sample army:
220 Charos
180 Q9
150 Q10
50 WoA x 1
500, 9 spaces
plus
100 (free points) WoA x 2
100, 6 spaces
which combined is:
220 Charos
180 Q9
150 Q10
150 WoA x 3
600, 15 spaces.
Each turn, as usual for Gang of Four team games, each team rolls for initiative, and then each team decides for itself (based on the situation) which member goes first. Thus, the order of play is: Initiative winning team - player 1, other team - player 2, Initiative winning team - player 3, and other team - player 4.
The range for the Warriors of Ashra is increased to 5 for this scenario.

Zap Zone
There is a Glyph of Rannweig under Shurrak, and 1 Treasure Glyph (face down, normally trapped) under each other Giant. The start zones are not pictured, but will be attached to the Map on either side to the gaps in the wall closest to the entrance.

The Warriors Have Bows.
The range for the Warriors of Ashra is increased to 5 for this scenario.
The Giants Fight For Their Grove
.
.
On the adjacent card table (placed on either end) the teams' cards will be placed on opposite sides. In the middle will be placed the cards for all the Giants:
Moltenclaw, Mimring, Othkurik, Shurrak, and 2 each of the Ogre Warhulk and Ogre Pulverizer.
When placing Order Markers (OMs), at the beginning of each Round, 1 (and only 1) OM (other than the X) must be placed on one of the Giants (except as outlined below in Attack at Dawn).
1. The Giants cannot be moved in such a way that they would risk falling damage, nor may they be moved onto Molten Lava or Lava Field hexes (except for Shurrak);
2. Giants may never attack Giants, Great Evergreens or Evergreens;
3. Giants may not risk Leaving Engagement Attacks, for which purpose all Elven Armies are considered "enemies," even those Elven Armies on the team of the player controlling them (which otherwise would be considered "friendly"); thus, you may not move Giants out of engagement with any Elven Armies' units, even your own;
except when Mindshackled, Blood Frenzied, Enslaved, etc.
Attack at Dawn.
The Giants are asleep. No OMs may be placed upon Giants' cards until the Round after an attack has been made upon a Giant and/or a Tree.
Falling Trees.

The C3G Christmas Special Falling Trees will be used in this scenario.
The Victory Conditions.
The team with the most Victory Points after 15 rounds wins. VPs are awarded to each team as follows:
12 = 2 VP for each Giant killed;
4 = 2 VP for destroying each of the 2 Great Evergreens;
4 = 1 VP for destroying each of the 4 Evergreens (other than the Great Evergreen); and
7 = 1 VP for the each of the 5 Treasure Glyphs carried back to the Zap Zones (the hexes adjacent to the Outcrop).
12 + 4 + 4 + 5 = 27 Total VPs.
The Treasure Glyphs (face down, normally trapped) are
Potion of Healing
Cloak of Invisibility
Talisman of Defense
Ring of Protection
Bracers of Teleportation
Heroic Rune
Elixir of Speed
Cloak of Invisibility
Talisman of Defense
Ring of Protection
Bracers of Teleportation
Heroic Rune
Elixir of Speed
When used, the Temporary Treasure Glyphs are transforned/converted to Brandar's Chests, rather than destroyed, and may still be carried to the Zap Zones for VPs.

Day of the DentistWell met!
Having to take the day off yesterday due to a dental emergency (no pain, but major expense), I had a little time on my hands . . . This version of the Map was freebuilt fairly quickly (i.e., thrown together ![]() If and when the Gang of Four actually plays this scenario, I'll put up 5 platforms, mirroring the Map in The Lost City of Ashra! |

Revision Map MondayWell met!
I rebuilt the Map yesterday. As often happens, that caused me to rebuild the scenario as well. So I'm revising the text of the scenario above, even though the Map pictures won't be ready 'til Monday. |

Is this by any chance part of an ongoing campaign? You seem to be building multiple scenarios that certainly could link together.

Two Scenarios Is It![font="Times New Roman"][size="3"]Well met!
In this case, just 2. See my scenarios in the Maps & Scenarios forum. http://www.heroscapers.com/community...postid=1444449 A Swell Party! and A Swell Party Aftermath! are related. Some of the others borrow mechanics from each other and/or are thematically/mechanically related. |
