I know it’s been done before – but I haven’t done it yet! I’ve decided to try my hand at building the abode of Cyprien Esenwein and the surrounding grounds. And of course, the scenario will feature a handful of replicating zombies.
I’ve come up with a great two player scenario. It’s basically a glyph search; some kinda cursed object in the castle that must be found. Players head toward the castle through the graveyard. Strong howling winds (outside the castle) prevent flyers from getting there too fast. A locked but weakened door obstructs the way, leaving figures stranded in the graveyard while the free roaming zombies (controlled by the winner of initiative) do their thing. Fresh zombies (now that’s an oxymoron!) appear on the graves at the beginning of every round. Nice huh?
I also would like to create a three player scenario as well. I haven’t really thought this one out well yet, as I rarely have three players at my house. Could be a two-against-one deal, maybe? One player inside the castle trying to “maintain” while the other two try to conquer – I dunno. What do you think? Got any good ideas for a fun three-player scenario?
As a bonus, I’m also planning on including a print off to make stained glass windows for Cyprin’s stronghold.

The concept map from back in July is finally completed! Storyline didn’t come out too bad either. Janitor accidentally turns on a devastating earthquake device in Seismic Resonance. I kinda had to finish this map since I included it in the 2010 HeroScape Calendar as the Map of the Month for May.

I really like your stain glass window, and I had forgotten about using the elevated land tile + battlement thing for a gravestone. Nice!

Muy excellente, amigo! I love how the map only allows you to approach the castle from the front. Very cool!

Muchas gracias, mis compadres! I'm glad you all like it. I plan on playing a game or two on the map tonight.
Killercactus - The stained glass window is really cool. I printed the the outer arch on cardstock. The actual window is printed onto an overhead transparency. I had originally wanted to create open graves; a one level deep hole with a battlement at the one end. But it didn't work for this scenario. Maybe another time. In fact I'm sure you'll see it eventually because I've already made some nice HS scale coffins that fit perfectly into one of the holes. The B.I.V. - Yeah, me too. I really want to have both teams attempting to beat down the door while zombies are gnawing at 'em. |

Do you have posted someplace how you created the stainglass window? From the shot of the inside of the castle, I have a pretty good idea. But if you had a tutorial around here someplace, that would be brilliant.
Aside from that, dig the map. Looks great! .H3X. |

I just finished my first game using the two player scenario described above. The wife and I tried hard to break it. Tul-Bak-Ra and Drake 2.0 dominated the castle. It was over very fast. The zombies were very fun. They just keep popin' out of the graves - like daisies! We're gonna have another go at it tomorrow. |

I love that map. It's good to see some bilatteral symmetry, especially with such a cool scenario.

Update: Still working on this one... Zombies make for quite the road block. Also, castle door's are very strong.

Yep, its still in the works. The map is just too cool not to finish. I just need a better door (and a nice 3 player scenario).
