From the Podcast, Craig strongly hinted that there would be two promo figs for HS this year, one at Comic-con in July, one at Gen Con in Aug.
I'm guessing the Comic-con promo will be a Marvel.
The other at GenCon will be classic.
If anyone is going to Comic-con and gets an extra promo figure, I would be interested in trading for it. I will be at GenCon so I can provide the new GenCon promo in exchange.

Great, two more figures those of us who can't attend comic-con and Gencon are gonna need to fight to get :?

I think 2 different promos is a nasty rumor. Listen to the podcast again. I think there will be two different new product announcements, but only one promo.
Here are a couple of threads:

Actually, they GIVE THE FIGURES AWAY!
It's the dinglehoppers who intercept said figures and sell them to you on Ebay who make lots of money.
Hasbro makes nothing off these.

Well...they give them away in the hopes of making money later...
I have to say, having been at GenCon last year, the "heat" for HeroScape was good and beat expectations...and I think the promo figure was a big part of that.

That would be sweet if they came out with two exclusives this year.

Why? I don't think the exclusives really add anything to the game beyond what you see in any other expansion. They're just harder to get and breed a bit of the elitist/collectible fever in a game that's otherwise refreshingly devoid of it. While I don't really mind going to eBay (or ideally the Cons themselves) to get these figures, I can't honestly say they're the best way to expand the game. I accept them as somewhat inevitable, but I really can't say I'm excited to see more of them.
Besides, with Marvelscape fresh out of the oven, an exclusive figure would put 9% of the Marvel collection at "ultra rare" status. That's really not a good way to show people the virtues that should let Heroscape outshine Heroclix, IMO.

As long as they don't make the promo Nightcrawler I'll be okay. Otherwise... this is me - :brickwall:

However....if the Marvel promo were to be one of the figs in the master set...you'd end up with a double right off the bat assuming it convinced you to buy the game.

I'd hope any exclusives would be repaints. Basically, Black Spidey or Grey Hulk.

Aye. Please be a Variant of an existing figure. USAgent is another possibility. Or the Plaid Surfer.

If they're going to do Mr. FixIt, they really need to put him in a suit :P
and Black Spidey with the rough web lined look would be a little odd as well.
War Machine needs his multi-missle launcher on his shoulder... hmmm....

well, I'd rather they just do a paintjob without the accessories you might like than do an entirely new, impossible to get figure. :P
Yeah, USA Agent, Plaid Surfer (this is real?), and War Machine are other examples.
Oooh, or a Doombot! That would be cool.

Plaid Surfer was the best issue of WHAT IF... that I ever read.
Polka Dot Firelord was awesome though.

Well, now we know there is only one promo figure being given out this year.
And there was much rejoicing...
