Ok...I did a search (which didn't work by the way, I got an error) and browsed through the Official Rules & FAQ's and didn't see anything on this topic yet....so if it's been discussed already I apologize.
With the Airborne Elite Drop special ability...if you roll 13 or higher do you HAVE to place the unit the turn you make the successful roll? Or can you place them on ANY turn after you make a successful roll? Or, if you choose not to place them do you have to roll again for their placement on the desired turn?
The special ability on the card says you "may" place them after you make a successful roll. So in the last game I played my Dad and I decided that meant he could place them whenever he wanted AFTER the successfull roll was made. The use of the word "may" seems to imply that you are not required to place them.

Welcome to the site, slackandowski! You have the choice of placing them when rolling 13 or higher but if you don't place them then, you will continue to roll for the drop at the beginning of each round (before order markers are placed.) It's risky because you might not roll 13 or higher again during the game. You have the choice to place them but take the chance of never getting them in the game.

I have been there and done that. I made my drop roll once and not again for the rest of the game...talk about luck, bad luck.

I've not had it happen to me (yet) but it's happened to my oponnents. Can't say I was upset about it though. :D

hey, thanks for the welcome....good to be here....good to be a hexhead!
Yeah, that makes more sense. So if they pass up the chance they have to take a risk to see if they drop in when they want to....
So technically I may have won the game...

If you don't want to place them until late in the game, I believe you can simply not roll for them, and then make the attempt when you actually want to drop them in a future round....of course, if they don't drop before you get wiped out, you're done.

If you do not want to place them in a round, why would you roll the d20 for that round anyway? Just to get the bad rolls out of the die???

True. We don't force the roll if the AE player doesn't want to drop during that round. But it is fun to taunt them about all those high rolls prior to the round they WANT them to drop. :D

I guess you could do it to confuse your opponent...and just hope for a low roll...
Of course for me it would be to get out all the bad rolls!

My opponents are generally confused enough. So am I, for that matter.
