You could use this:

*Image deleted by ninthdoc* Sorry guys...

You might have to darken it a bit in your favorite photoeditor. It's what I use.

those hexes seem a little big

i found a site from google. it took about 5 tries to get my hexes the right size, but i got it perfectly:

http://www.incompetech.com/beta/hexagonalGraphPaper/hex.html

you need to set "hex leg length" to 1.15 inches

this will give you 14 hexes per page, but with plenty of white space to draw in more of your own if you can draw a semi-sraight line (like i am going to do)

thanks though, Doctor

In the initial post, he said he was going to line shelves with it to keep his HS figures organized.

Thanks, and sorry. The screen was screwed up on my computer and it cut off the part in the first post about organizing the shelf.

I posted that image w/out looking at how big it was. Sorry, I've deleted it now. I really was not trying to be funny, this time.

Isn't that a song? "All my hexes live in Texas. That's why I hang my hat in Tennessee."

Print it out. Put it on your shelf. Place the figures on the hexes.

Well I've seen folks at HQ using hex paper for all kinds of things. One of the coolest being a large sheet of hex paper printed in blue to represent an ocean. The actual game board was then built on top of it to resemble an island. Sure you could make it yourself with water tiles, but one has to admit that the hex paper was a heckuva lot quicker and really didn't detract from the overall look of the map.

But will that really work <incredulous voice>??!? Can you really organize your figures that way? Will they stay organized? Will the HeroScape Fairy bring me more figures if I do this?

Hexahere....hexagon(e).

I've played quick games on hex maps, when I didn't want to take the time to build a board. Aside from there not being much height difference on your average map, the rules still work quite well. LOS becomes more important.
