Hasbro Sucks. They need to be more organized with their releases.

Castles were supposed to be due out this month. They have been bumped to August.

Raknar's Vision and Thaelenk Tundra were due about a month ago, and no one has seen them in stores yet (any word on whether or not this is an online exclusive?)

I got my masterset in December 2004 and on the box it says "Look for Heroscape Expansion Sets!" so i did. I didnt find any until August 2005.

Battlefield Builder/MyHeroscape were supposed to be done last fall. Still not done.

My point is, hasbro blows. The should be called Hasblow.

I know, I have the same problem in AZ. They always start with the east coast states first.

Well, Raknar's have been sighted in Targets.
For a week. :D

My wife picked up the ONE box that I know of in the entire Sacramento metropolitan area. But I'm sure there were a few more boxes that were on a shelf - for a couple hours.

Of course, anyone that believes Hasbro's release dates really doesn;t know their history for HS:

They have consistently been ~ 2 months off in their stated release dates.

What makes me wonder is - WHY do they continue to screw that up?
You'd think that they would have some knowledge of their production schedules for this line by now - why do they keep messing up so nad in their promoted dates? Noone puts a gun to their head and says "You must tell people the product is coming out 2 months earlier than it actually is"

And if it's some unfoseen thing that causes them to keep being so wrong on their public statements - than why does it keep happening?
If it's the same continual delay problem, you'd expedct it to be fixed by now.
If it's different delay problems each expansion, why would they be consistently 2 months behind each different problem?

Now, there is one more possibility - that they purposely state the releases 2 months earlier than they know it will trickle in to the States.
If that's the case, (which I have no idea if it is) I don't understand the benefit they'd be getting by continually upsetting the customer base with inaccurate release dates.
Do they think customers like delays?
Does it give Hasbro more trade-material coverage or something?

Anyone in the know that could fill us in, that'd be cool.

Maybe Hasbro thinks the wait will make people want to buy the figures more?

I agree that their product distribution is horrible. I think it is the worst part of Heroscape right now =\

I have sent a few e-mails to them complaining about the fact. I doubt they will ever figure out what they are doing. Its like I told them...I would love to give you more money as would other people if you would only give us the chance. I was told keep looking, the products will be hitting the stores. I still find it funny that they can't keep certain items stocked in the online store either. Imagine if new stuff DID actually make it into stores...I might have a heart attack.

Which is another good reason for Hasbro to get their stuff into the stores on time instead of surprising us: death is bad for business - it cuts into their consumer base! =P

I Phoenix AZ I have had too many problems finding the new products.

I have made trips up to 300 miles to check 20+ stores and not found any new sets, only 3 that did have any old expansions. It seems that AZ is just not too big on selling HS.

Wow  Maybe you should call ahead in the future to see if they have the expansions in stock. With gas prices as high as they are that must have been expensive!

Yeah no kiddin! I was in California in May (dad was takin' me to an air show along with my uncle and one of my cousins) and gas was around $3.50 a gallon!! Makes our $3.19 not look to bad. :D

$3.19 for gas? wow...and i thought the $2.65 here was bad...

anyways, i was in target today and had something someone here said in mind, so i decided to look. They had like 4 MS, like 4 Orms Return, and an incomplete set of wave 2...

Sorry, NiteRaider, when I had my first car, gas was 23 cents a gallon. But, then, I had hair that went to my waist and the waist was 32 inches around. Ah, those were the days...just after the invention of the candle.

I don't remember. I would tell you, sir, if I did. I don't know if it is safe or not. I don't know anything. I used to know a whole lot of stuff. But then I started playing with these cool toys on these neat 3-D maps. Sometimes we had beer and stuff when we played. I don't remember anything anymore. What? What? I don't know.

This is precisely why my company will not sub out labor to China. The designers designed unaware of the manufacturing capabilities of the manufacturer. After the designs are finalized, they will be sent to the pouring company in China. China will send them a quote for tooling production and part price. Odds are this is too high because of little things that are inherent to the designs. The designers have to work out the bugs. This takes a long time because of the time difference. An 8 month ramp up can easily turn into 10 months. Then there is the time it takes to mass produce a cargo ship full of them. Then the ship has to travel. Then the products have to be distributed to the lean retailers. The retailers do not care what Hasbro says about release dates, they will not “pull” it from the warehouses or back rooms if there is not an open shelf for it.

Hasbro is in an interesting position that there is no competition for this product so the release date can slip a little. They also know that the 634 people that make up this site and the other collectors do not constitute a powerful market share, so they do not see a reason to bend over backward for us.

This is the reality of mass marketed product. If we wanted it to be different, we would have to be willing to spend more per part. I can guarantee that more kids want to pay $9 and expansion whenever it comes out than collectors that want to pay $20 to get it now.

It is sad, but true.

I will not hate on Hasbro. They brought us a cool game and it would suck IMO if it was distributed by some big time collectable gaming company. my days of buying blind are over.

Sure, they suck on release dates but it really makes it easy for me (maybe a bit selfish) to catch up. I started in December 05 and I barely finished getting each expansion and I have no doubles save for the 6 MS.

This game is already complete. Everything else is gravy. It is our addictive nature that causes us to complain about delays in releases when there is endless possibilities with the terrain and figures we already own (not to mention customs).

I'm sure there may be figures that you have not even used yet. I'm certain there are unused combos at your disposal.

Game on!

im not complaining about hasbro in general. Hasbro itself is awesome. In the eneral heroscape department, they need to figure out whats up with their timing. I have yet to see a single herocape product released when they say it will. If the release date gets changed, update the site to let us know. To my knowledge, we still have noe release date for the Tundra or Raknars vision, other than what was it, May '06? Well, may is gone, and i still havent seen it in stores.

I too enjoy seeing other people's opinions (thats one of the reasons froums exist, IMO) on matters such as these.

K/H Addict- I agree that Hasbro can be a lot better in their distribution and every other area that gets on us Heroscapers' nerves.

I just think that with this strong community, Heroscape can live without Hasbro. Just look at the events section. No Hasbro sponsored tournaments but we are already talking about world championships.

It would be great if they made good on their promises but we know their ways now. Let's make the best of it. How? Well, take the extra time between releases to enjoy what you do have. Create new maps/scenarios, army combos, customs, house rules, etc. Just enjoy the game!

I speak to myself with these words also. I've done my share of complaining about stuff I should just enjoy for what it is (X-Men 3).

thats the problem. they say they will release new products, getting our hops up on increasing the value of the game. the new products get delayed without notice, dissapointing those of us without enough money to pay the internet costs plus shipping (trust me, if i had the money, i already would have them, and this topic wouldnt exist) to get them. I want these new sets just as much as the other guy, and im growing impatient. Surprisingly, heroscape gets boring when you cant afford multiples of everything to have more combos; i get tired of looking at the same old figures on my shelf for days on end because i cant play because people are getting bored with it, because they have grown tired of their own figures.

I love heroscape. It is perhaps the most versatile game ever created (to my knowledge). it can only get better. But only if hasbro could keep to the dates they set, or update us on delays. Why can't they do that?

Heroscape, though great, is destined for failure if Hasbro can't figure distribution out. This isn't wave one anymore. The consumers, those who really want to spend their hard-earned money on Hasbro products, have certain expectations. Expectations like maybe if there are ten hundred large hero expansions in a store, there might be one set of trees. Or, if something is due to be released on a certain date, that it might get released in a manner that makes it easily located for all of us. They've proven again and again that they still can't figure this out, and it's getting depressing. I just don't think that head office supports Heroscape fully yet.

I WISH they started with the east coast states first :(

waves one and two and 2.5 i got with ease. Wave 3 took me forever to find and just becuase i couldnt find them ive had to drop my number of commons from 3 packs to 2 packs :(

Im finding wave 4 in bits and parts. Found one pack in mass (greeks and snakes)

Found the Heros and another pack of greeks and vipers in NC (but the hero's cards were stolen and hasbro has yet to send me real cards the basterds)

in VA at my brothers house i finally found the Samurai and cowboys and a pack of Elfs / Souldborgs....this was yesterday.

Im pissed im just finding some of wave 4, were as wave 4.5 should be on the shelves.

where in VA does your brother live? I was out at a target on sunday and they had a full set of wave 4 plus an additional heroes pack; i picked up the lawmen and samurai pack for a friend so unless someone else has gotten to it, there should be 2 heores packs, 1 vipers pack and one elf pack

this was at the target in Shortpump

I'm fed up with Hasbro/Heroscape with all the delays, but I'll still buy'em when they come out.

Hasbro - 1
hex706f726368 - 0

I wonder how much of the distribution problem stems from re-using the same sku for expansion packs (large and wave). I do work a for a major retail chain (not even in a market close to target/wal-mart), and I'd think that sku/upc sharing would cause major problems for computerized inventory systems trying to keep store shelves filled with product from the DC (warehouse).

I actually made 6 cents (woohoo) off of that pack because he didnt want to go through the hassle of getting 44 cents...
