Here is the request.

If I were going to be facing an army, believed to be made up of
Shades of Bleakewoode
Zombies of Morindan
plus some other unit/units

I am trying to come up with an army that would do well against it.

Currently I am think of something like this.

2x Blastatrons = 120
1x Gladiatrons = 80
2x Deathstalkers = 200

Some of my newbie reasonings.
1) no unique heroes (elminated the Shade's SOUL DEVOUR, while it is a long shot to work it could really swing a battle)
2) I think have pretty good mobility with these units.
3) The Deathstalkers being large it keeps the zombies food a bit limited.
4) Have both ranged and Melee units.

So is my reasoning way off and I would get slaughter?
What if I face a completely different army would I stand a chance?
What is the biggest threat to my army?

Thanks for any options on the matter.

well i would either go with the deathstalkers or go with the blas/glad army. both are very good, but both are better independent of each other. The blast/glad portion needs to be reversed, you need 2 squads of glads for each squad of blasts. a couple of squads of deathstalkers are great against zombies too. Now for fighting a shades and zombies army in general, i would choose an army like this:

anything with Q9 in it, he rocks everything.

Jotun - although the shades need to be dealt with, his special attack shoudl take care of them 9/10 times before they can do anything, jotun also crushes zombies, they can't do anything to him with his special swing/throw attack

deathreavers + any ranged guys u want, work real well against zombies as well, they have high defense so they can survive zombie attacks, plus they can scatter, all the while slowing down all the zombie units. (altho be very careful as they cool just replenish the zombie ranks)

Even the deathwalkers with grenade or rapid fire attacks can be awesome against zombies, especially rapid fire cause he can mow down a ton of zombies in a turn.

Hoep that helps a little bit

I would go with: Blastrons 60
Gladitrons 2 160
Q9 180
total 400

Q9 takes out the swarm of zombies, gladitrons hold off shades so blastrons can take them out. Make sure the shades don't reach Q9.

How many zombies? You shouldn't worry about Soul Devouer, so put in Q9 and knock out all the zombies in one turn.

I ended up taking this army for my first two plays against my wife this weekend.

She played
2x Shades
3x Zombies

We played on a fairly small map.

Her strategy was to rush Q9 with every order marker on the shades. I was able to take a few shades out before she got to him, but not all. In both games she was lucky to get a Soul Devouer on Q9 and ended up winning the games.

On the third and fourth games my wife was having so much fun with the Shades, she dropped the Zombies and went with 4x Shades. I dropped one of the Gladitrons and added 2x rats in place. This seemed to right change for the game. I used the Rats and Gladitrons as a shield around Q9 to keep the shades from getting next to him. The last two games went my way and I was able to pick off the shades without much problem.
