View Full Version : 400/500 Point Frenzy build

two variants of a frenzy build i've been toying with:

400:

1x Venoc Warlord
4x Aubrien Archers

Total: 400 points

500:

1x Venoc Warlord
1x Elite Onyx Vipers
4x Aubrien Archers

i completely forwent venocs in favor of more Aubriens. however, i couldn't resist putting the EOVs in to fill out the final 100 points in the 500 build. general strategy is to keep the warlord back and charge forward with the EOV (in the 500 version) and jockey for board position with the Aubriens. while frenzy is fickle, the elves are strong enough on their own anyway.

I've played with a similar build to your 500pt version. I had 2 squads of Armocs instead of 2 of the Aubriens. True, they don't receive any of Mittens' bonuses (don't ask me why), but late game, this bonding team can be quite powerful and clean house. Of course, you could always just replace 1 Aubrien squad with an Armoc squad. Either way, despite inconsistency, Frenzy armies are fun.

I would also choose to swap out one squad of Aubrians for one of Armocs... they are really handy to have for taking out units with higher defense values, and they can keep Mittens from getting surrounded and crushed.

Mittens + 7x Venocs works quite well in most situations :D

I won the title "Champion of Ullar" last year at Gen Con with:

3 x Aubrien Archers (210 points)
1 x Venoc Warlord (120 points)
1 x Armoc Vipers (65 points

Total = 395 points

Did very well.

I got hosed at a Dallas tourney by this very same army. It's a good choice :D
