Speed Custom Terrain Contest?

I've been thinking about having a contest similar to the Speed Custom Units contest, but this one would be for Custom Terrain.

Criteria:

Once every two weeks, I (or someone else) would post the requirements as such:

Materials:
1 7 hex terrain piece - grass
1 1 hex terrain piece - grass

Theme
LOS blocker with a hedge

or

Materials:
2 2 hex terrain piece - any
1 3 hex terrain piece - any
1 1 hex terrain piece - any

Theme:
Quicksand and quicksand victim

The entrants would have a week to design and pm to me several pictures of their terrain. The entrants can use additional non-Heroscape material as appropriate, but they are limited to the Heroscape material as indicated. After the posting deadline, I will then open up another thread with the pictures and number for voting. Voting will last for 24-48 hours with comments.

Now, as for prizes, I have no idea yet. Maybe HMG would be willing to provide a $5 gift certificate to the winner? :pray:

its a cool idea, but i think its gonna be quite hard to get enough entries to make it a reasonable contest.

I don't know, I think we'd be able to get at least 6-10 entrants. There are quite a few terrain customizers, as well as closet terrain customizers that I'm sure will come out of the closet if given the opportunity to compete.

Great idea but it well need to work out the details and rules. If youre intrested ill be youre partner and help you run it ive been wanting to do a similar thing. But yea sounds good give me a pm if youre intrested in my help.

sounds like a cool idea, though to save space on the voting thread I would limit the pictures to one picture about 800x600 pixels.

Its a great idea. We will likely see some very creative and usable ideas come out of it. However, I can foresee the number of "new" ideas declining rapidly after you have done the contest a couple of times.

I think this sounds like a fun Idea also. My custom terrain is not up to par with some of the others here, but it would be fun non the less.
