I just picked up a copy of Wings of War along with the Top Fighter and Recon expansion decks. Cool game. My wife and I played a quick game last night and I am sure it will be a staple game to play.
Has anyone here bought the Miniatures for Wings of War yet? What do you think of the quality? Happy with your purchase? Does it make game play better?

I bought eight of them at the weekend.
The only part I'm not happy with is the price - at the equivalent of $14 each, to get two of each plane is a big spend.
On the other hand, the miniatures look good, and should really add to the gameplay - both because models are more atmospheric, and also because the stands are going to stay in place on the table better than the cards do.
It's worth pointing out that the paintjobs aren't necessarily perfect (handpainted, you see), and the models are larger than the pictures on the cards. Oh, and be a little careful when you try to extract the planes from the packaging (but hey, we're all Heroscapers here - we know ALL about trying to get figures out of plastic packaging!).

Thanks for the info and your opinions, I appreciate the heads up.

I tried this out this weekend. It was actually pretty fun. The rules are real simple which is nice since most of my other games have rather lengthy rule books. They are still pretty limited on the plane choices for the mini's but I'm hoping that will change in the future.
I have to agree that the mini's are kind of expensive compared to some of the white metal WWI planes available, but since I have so many mini's to paint as it is, I don't mind paying a little extra for some pre-painted stuff.
We were able to play 2 games in 2 hours which is pretty nice for 2/4 players never having seen the rules before. I definately give the game a thumbs up. Plus, it's always a bonus when you can play a game and tell everyone you "...shot the Fokker down."
