Does the new Marvel terrain look like a cheesy set for some 80s hair-band to anyone else....?

All it needs is a few mini smoke machines and some colored lights emulating neon and it is all set for a miniaturized Wasp, Cinderella or Ratt video.

Marvel terrain rocks. It is just the absolute suck that we're getting so little of it in a single pack.

You do have a great idea though: Hairbandscape. (We can't call it Metalscape, long time readers will know why.)

It's starting to look like the answer to your question is ... no, no it doesn't. :P

Apparently I am the only one here who used to watch the Headbangers Ball regularly (I am dating myself there a bit.)

Still looks like a set to me....

.... one I am itching to own.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't at least vote for option one yourself! :)

I can see the 80's vibe. The dirty brick street corner. It really needs some lame nightclub posters and trashcans though, one of which should be filled with a black plastic bag that knocks the lid part of the way off so you know its not just a prop. It really needs some cars and maybe a chain link fence with a crowd of kids dancing around a boombox to complete the effect though.

...and a little M. Jackson figure moonwalking on underlit hex pieces,

*specks of spit flying out of his mouth*
"Is that an Ullar pin - on your uniform?!?"

"....I carried an M-16 and you! You carry that, that....electric twanger!"

"Who are you? Where do you come from? What do you wanna do with your life?!?"

Metalscape would rock.

Or maybe just Musicscape.

The KISS army versus Flava Flav versus Elvis versus Sgt. Pepper versus Michael Jackson and Bubbles the Chimp.

Awesomeness.

Dude, you're so clueless. I wasn't kidding about what I said. UD created some stupid concept of Metalscape before .net went down. It was the first of his movies. Listen next time.

No need to get snippy. I do remember UD and his weird little movies...I think Metalscape was the only one I actually watched before writing him off as insane. I think enough time has passed though that we can reapporpriate the term Metalscape for use in describing the awesomeness of an 80's hair band Heroscape expansion, and that was the sense I was using it in.

I am hoping that each wave comes packaged in a box with new terrain and a new destructible object. After a few waves there would be enough to build a little city.

I kind of doubt this will happen though.

I believe it's been confirmed that Wave 1 will be coming in the standard 5 figure packs. I'd prefer it if each wave came in its own Masterset as well, but I don't think that's what's going to happen :(

I actually tinkered with some Kiss customs. Gene was unattackable by female figures and they got stronger with their army near them.

Don't forget Toto!
Here's the video for Rosanna: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuD746QqPp4
Complete with choreographed fight scene ripped right outta West Side Story.
Yup, they could have easily done this one with a Marvelscape set, just add one chainlink fence.

If you are semi-serious about doing KISS customs then check out their movie. I believe the title is "KISS meets the phantom of the park". Anyway each band member has certain powers related to their face paint.

Well I was serious when I first thought of it, Ive kinda moved on since then. If I can get my hands on that movie in some way or another I may finish them up. Sounds like it may be what I need to keep them from being lame or boring.
