Well I was wondering who people play with or if they have any clubs or places to go were you can play. None of my friends really seem to get into Heroscape that much, and I am stuck playing with my little sis, which is... moderately fun :( . I love the game, but mini gaming and board games in general, are not commonly liked by many people.

Mostly I play heroscape with my son and his friends, but have recently gotten a gaming friend of mine interested.
Also have been able to get a few games going with people in the area from this site, which has been nice :)

I play with a couple of friends of mine. The one I play the game with the most, is Geoffrey. He is currently vacationing in France and will be back at the end of next week. I've only played a three player game three times and I don't doplay with four of theese people anymore. I usually play on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Look in the Events forum to find events going on near you. I've found a great group here in SoCal.

At this point I've only played with people younger than me..... but that is only because I haven't found anyone older that plays ( maybe Gen-Con). To answer you question it is normally family members. I do like tournements as then a diverse group shows up and I enjoy that. I'm also going to try a game day ( this Saturday in Rochester, MN) , this is were a bunch of gamers meet and bring a games.... of course I'm taking HS and hope to demo or play that with some people there.

Yea, there is just no tournaments or events up here in New Hampshire for heroscape. There is a place called the game castler, but its only for Warhammer and expensive mini games like that. And yu-gi-oh...which is gay... :?

Yes, it is sad.
But take heart, you're not the only one!
I have been known to spend a night playing HS by myself.
Luckily, I do have two geeky brothers who play.

I have a regular Thursday evening game with a couple of male friends. I build the maps and pour the drinks and generally provide dinner for everyone, so that works out pretty well.
I also play with my son-in-law and grandson, but they are in Texas and we only get together every couple of months. But everytime we do, we make sure we get in a game or two. My granddaughter (just turned nine) is also getting interested. My grandson is interested in doing repaints too, which is a neat thing.

Well, I guess I'm lucky because I come from a familly of gamers. From old classic Monopoly to chess, Magic and Role Playing Games (RPG).
Time IS my major oppponent :( (see my sig). Being a father of two and the third on it's way...
So, I play HeroScape from three different sources (when I can find the time):
1) familly: my son (eight), my nephew (16) and one of his friend (15), my nice (eight), my brother (occasionaly).
2) my friends: 4 guys between 27-45.
3) this community: I played a game for the first time with ArchonShiva last weekend (see the battle report section).
Speaking with ArchonShiva, I realised that I've played more games with 3 players and up than the classic one on one! With only one MS and few expansions, we have had many 3 player games (either FreeForAll, a scenario or kill the player on your left), 1-2, 2-2, 3-3, 3-2, 5 FFA, 6 (get one of your fig to the other side of the board), etc, etc...
But I'm not that lucky because my time is limited, the money I can spend on HeroScape stuff is limited, HeroScape's distribution is very bad in Quebec (Canada) and my wife doen't play...

With my son mostly. Sometimes we get a neighbor (kids mostly, but an occaissional adult) to give it a try. I have a neighbor that is into minis (those crappy unpainted ones) and he has a boy my son's age that I'm trying to get to come over. I'm toying with setting up a game day in the future open to anyone who wants to play, but I need RL to settle down a little.

Mostly my 9 year old son, and once weekly with 2 of my adult friends.
Its a nice change of pace between the two.
When I play my son its very relaxed and more of a chance to bond with him.
When my friends come to play its very competetive and forces me to be more strategic.

I play with the largest, most active group of Scapers on the planet. The DFW gaming group! :D I definitely count my lucky stars that the likes of Grungebob, ninthdoc, UPC, Infinity Max, Rychean, Ultradoug, and lilwis (to name a few) are all pretty much local. With at least one gathering every month we all get lots of opportunities to play different people each time.
And to top it off all the folks are intelligent, articulate, and just plain nice. I love the DFW group. :)

I play with my wife mainly. I have played a game with my bro-in-law.

My wife and I play at least once a week, and every once and a while a friend of mine will come over and throw down.
I had quite a few friends who were playing, but when the expansions started to come out more frequently, they were intimidated because they weren't sure which characters to use.
Also, I have a total maniac friend who plays, but he takes the game ENTIRELY too serious, often getting mad and pointg out lame rule breaking, like turning a big character around without taking a move.

Luckily, all my friends are life-long gamers and we rarely go a weekend without playing something. Since I started playing in December, we've only gone 3 or 4 weekends without playing Heroscape at least once. Next weekend, I'm going on my annual camping trip where we'll have at least 8 master sets between us (and enough table room to use it).

I have a local of friends and gamers that I have introduced HeroScape to. The group size is about 15 people and I send out an email to the group each week describing the scenario and number of players we are looking for. In the winter months we were getting six players each weekly game, now that summer is here we play with three or four players each week. Quite lucky to have an active group of adult gamers. We also play on large maps that are built and stay up for about 6 weeks before we change up the map. Works well so far. Sending out a weekly email to friends that game has done lots to bring gamers to the fray.
Also, as a side note... Add your location to your HeroScape profile. THat may well help you connect with other gamers.

My brother-in-law got me started on the game the Christmas before last. Since then I've gotten my best friend from back home started on it, play whenever he's able to make it down to TN, and I got a friend here started on it, though we haven't played in a while.
Haven't been able to get my wife to play since the first month or so after we bought the master set (even though she's won every time we've played).

I prefer playing with my wife (mind out of the gutter you!) as she plays semi-strategically, plus we get so little time to do things together with our differing work schedules that any face to face time is a treat.
But mostly I play with my 12 year old, he's not bad, but the last time we played he drafted his 400 pt army of only about 3 heroes (not sure what he was thinking) to mine of Jotun (first time I used him) and a few cheap squads. My squads went out first, and his 3 hero guys mopped them up in no time, but when Jotun arrived it was all over. All in all, his guys were dead in about 6 rounds.
Jotun really DOES smash!!

Okay, not sure where this should go but it's so cool I need to share and let's just say this is for a future "who do you play with" statement.
Get home from work and the phone rings. The call is from my sister and figured "hmmm, what's up?" Answered it and it was my 5 year-old nephew "Uncle 'Newb' (real name not Newb....just work with me), I just saw your favorite game on tv." Me, "Hiya, Buddy! How are you doing?" "Fine.", he answers. I'm laughing on the inside but continue to ask, "What game was it?" Heroscape." So I'm trying not to laugh (just because this was so cool for him to call.) I go on, "Which show were you watching?" "Scooby Doo." "That awesome!", I replied. He finishes up, "Okay bye and I love you." "I love you to, buddy." My sister picks up the phone and asks what was that about and I explain. She starts to laugh and states, "He ran into the room all excited and wanted to call you." Conversation continues for a bit about other stuff...
I just thought that was the coolest thing...he knows what my favorite game is (heck, all the figures are sitting out ready for a draft when he comes over.) I haven't played HS much with him yet but soon...very soon.
Newb.

I usually play by myself. It's not all that sad and lonely. I get to try out whatever maps I want, I don't have to wait forever for stupid people to decide what unit they want me to kill next, and I get to try out two to four different strategies at once. I play with my roommate a little, but he tends to lose and break things. No more Heroscape for that guy. It's pretty hard to set up a board in the residence halls too. I usually make minimaps and play on my bed.
