I decided to bring all of the terrain and other stuff into one thread, with the new stuff added.

This first that I want to show took some time, but I am proud of how it looks. It's designed as a small hummock, with soil showing from where erosion has taken away the grass. Let me know what you think. It's designed to be an obstacle for LOS, as well as improve the overall appearance of the game.

I was working on the idea for a punji stake trap, but decided that it was unworkable. Instead, I made the following with the idea of a stake field below a castle wall.

Wasn't sure what color Marro blood would be, so I made it yellow for now.

I made this one with the original idea of a soulborg refueling station. But, after I built the piping, I had the idea of a toxic liquid pipeline. After I built it, I thought it would look real good with the Deathreavers and Deathstalkers feeding on some leaking goo.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/cycoduck/Toxic%20Field/HPIM1620.jpg

After I took the pictures, I took another look and removed the long strand that was hanging down from the drop falling from the pipe, looked a little better.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/cycoduck/Toxic%20Field/HPIM1775.jpg

I was playing around with the plastic pellets and made what looked like an exploded pod or flower. After staring at it for some time, I pulled out Ne-gok-sa, modified his stance and placed him inside the plastic. I'm still playing with the color of the 'pod', but, check it out.

Not sure what possessed me to create this new piece, call it boredom as I stared at a pile of tubing and metal. I guess you can call it a Soulborg sculpture field.

The Newer Stuff

My entry into Custom Terrain Contest #6. My idea is that the Marros forced the humans to build the wall and tower, as well as dig out the rock. The blood on the wall is from the humans that were killed shortly thereafter.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/cycoduck/Mausoleum/HS2_ct4_card.jpg

I started on an entry for Custom Terrain Contest #5 (the bell tower). Didn't get what I wanted, so, instead, a round temple. I'll have other pics of this later.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/cycoduck/Round%20Temple/HPIM1915.jpg

The newest item overall: A Transporter Portal (Vydar's). I'm still making the rules for it, and will probably pay Leifkicker to make a card. For this one, I used items from around the garage (a Bosch router bit holder, electrical nut, sprinkler riser, parts from an old keyboard and electrical wire)

I have a couple more projects in progress. I'll post more later.
Thansk for looking

I like your custom. This may sounds like a weird complement, but I like the sides of the hexes. Good work.

I like the sides in theory, but I think that in reality, it would just make interlocking them nigh impossible. Have you actually gotten that to still work, or did you make it solely to be free-standing?

It's designed to be solely freestanding. I have some other first attempts at custom terrain designed to be interlocking. I only run into issues when I use the Scenic Cement as an overcoat, the sides tend to stick for the first few times.

Looks incredible! How did you make the tree, or was it a pre-made one?

The tree form came from Woodland Scenics, I painted it with a gray base coat and streaked it brown, then added the foliage.

Prepping up to make a Hall of Statues type deal. Here's the first statue, an iron Raelin that has rusted over time. Still need to mount it on a pillar with some flocking, but the rusting texture came out pretty good imo.

I love the robot animals eating the goo and the rusted statue looks tight. The spikes are very cool too. Nice work cycoduck.

Got another statue that I just finished, again, still need to mount it on a pedestal with flocking. This one is an old bronze Finn. Pics aren't the best, I'll get some better ones up later.

Still thinking of maybe two more statues, might do another iron statue, but not sure. What do you think?

All your terrain and LOS idea are great. One thing I would suggest is when you post New stuff is to add them to your 1st posts as well so as not to scann all post to see what is new.

Wow. Just wow. I love your stuff. I think my favorite is your tree. That pipe is amazing too. I love the goo. Any special abilities that it can poison you? The spikes aren't my favorite, but still a cool idea. I love the Marro blood. The thing with Ne-Gok-Sa looks like part of a hive. It makes me think that teh Marro are hatched from pods. Very good. The iron Raelin impressed me until I saw the Finn. He looks like he really is made out of bronze. How in the world did you get the rusty green? All in all,

I enjoy the vignettes that you've created. Just by looking at them, they tell a story. I'm also looking forward to your final idea with the statues.

"any small, pleasing picture or view"

In other words, the chunks of custom terrain with a few figures, rather than pieces in the middle of a full battle where they could get lost.

I really like the tree. How did you make it? Because I am trying to get some ideas to try for my heroscape, so I can make it cooler. I have an idea for a game of heroscape and this tree looks great for it. Great custom! :D

I looked through your thread a while back and was very impressed CycoDuck. I hadn't seen it for a while and am glad to see some new stuff.

Very well done all 'round... you'd have to be in my top 5 list. I don't know all 5 people in the list - but you're one of them LOL.

Keep us posted on your newer stuff!
