Also, Vince Young is gonna be on the cover. I heard Ladanian Tomlison passed on being on the cover because of the so very true "Madden Curse" If you don't know much about it, ever since the Madden 2002, every player on the cover of a Madden game has been "cursed" by either having a pathetic season after being on the cover, or being injured badly. If you want true, hard core facts than "Google it"

I wonder how much EA gets each year from selling basically the same game each year......

That's funny, but it's nothing like that at all! If you took Madden 2004 or 05 and played it and then took Madden 08 and played it, you would see better graphics "realistic", more game modes/options and what to do, better online play, smoother gameplay, and other things. I don't care if you think like that or not, I just know I love the Madden games and I'm sure others out there love them too.

I usually bash EA, cause their PC games are buggy unfinished, unsupported sacks of dung, but their Sports line is outstanding. I don't have a console anymore, so I have to wait until my friends get the new Madden and Live. Most people won't know the difference between Madden 04' and 05'. For the people who play a lot though, they are always adding new stuff. I personally can't wait. I don't watch NFL, but the game is fun as heck to play.

I bought Madden 07 in October, and it was my first Madden game since '94, which I played like a little madman when I was a little fella. I'm currently on the 2014 season in the franchise mode in Madden '07...I can't get enough of it. I'll probably skip the next installment unless there is something groundbreaking about it and then possibly pick up '09 if I have a new system by then.

Holy crap!!! The farthest I've ever gotten on a franchise is year 2008-2009 on Madden 05.[/b]

I am playing Madden 2007 still and am in the fourth season in my franchise. I too will probably pass on 2008. I used to buy every new Madden since like 92 on the Genesis and continued in to PS1 and PS2. I tried XBox a couple years ago and couldn't get used to the controller so I switched back to PS@ for 07.

The changes each year don't seem to add much compared to every two or three years. The question is...how important is it for someone to have a current roster??? Apparently for many it is.

Yeah I have buddies back home that buy Madden every year for the rosters. If a person plays against friends or in tournaments, I suppose it could be very important. Since I rarely find a friend that likes/wants to play Madden at college, I generally play by myself, so the rosters become obsolete after about 5 years of franchise play.

It is interesting to see what happens around your franchise league after about five years. I try to keep as many of my good people around but the salary cap is my enemy.

Yeah I hear ya. I play with the Panthers and I have managed to keep Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, Chris Gamble, and Richard Marshall on the team, but no one else from the the 2006 season. Most of my players are young computer generated players. I would have kept Ken Lucas this year but that jerk wanted more money and held out, so I cut his tail.
