Does any company out there still make clear sleeves that aren't the crappy soft penny sleeves?

I have a few games that I want to sleeve up and need clear sleeves because you have to be able to tell the difference between card types by the backs they have and some are double sided...

I absolutely hate the soft penny sleeves. I loathe them. They suck.

I really like Ultra Pro and they used to make clear sleeves that are the same thickness, sturdiness as their color backed sleeves. Now that most CCGs have tournaments I guess they went away from clear sleeves because you could still see the back and any scatch on the back of the card could be considered cheating...

Anyways, any one know of a company that still makes high quality clear sleeves?

God, I haven't seen those clear Ultrapro sleeves in a long time.

I don't know of any actual clear ones, but they have some at wal-mart that are dirt cheap (100 for about 2 dollars) that I've been using to sleeve my playtest games. The light colors are semi-transparent (you'll be able to tell the difference of card backs). If you're a slide shuffler, they're actually pretty good sleeves, haven't had any split on me yet. I don't bridge shuffle cards in sleeves, so I don't know how they would hold up to repeated bridge shuffling, but for slide shuffling, they're a great bargain.

I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for but I have some "crappy soft penny sleeves" (I think?) from this company:

http://www.bcwsupplies.com/

They might have what you are looking for.

I don't like buying off the internet unless I know exactly what I'm getting so, another idea would be to go to a local sports card shop and see what kind of sleeves they have. Also look at the sleeves that they have their cards in. Just watch prices if you find what you are looking for. Card shops aren't always the least expensive place to buy sleeves.

Here's a site with a bunch of Ultra Pro products. See if any of them are what you're looking for.

I am in exactly the same boat - I have my decks all in clear ultrapro deckmaster sleeves - I have been told these are not made anymore. I just bought 4 boxes at:

www.ccgarmory.com

and next time I order AT-43 or something from them I will order more. The prices are reasonable, but buy a bunch of stuff because the initial shipping cost is high. They seemed to have a good supply of these sleeves.

I have been told that people like to have each deck in a different color, so no one uses clear anymore. I don't like resleeving so all mine are in clear...

I'm not sure exactly what you want, but I have a bunch of card sleeves that are clear on both sides. I bought them for when I made the Heroscape Command Cards with Malechi. I ended up buying about 1000 of them of Ebay. I've still got a few left (yeah...a few hundred!) If clear-on-both-sides is the only criterion then pm me and I can probably help you out.
