June 5, year one

We have been in this strange land for about a month now. Its NOTHING LIKE MARR. I'm homesick. I miss th cozy nests of rock, and the pleasant smell of marden fumes. We are The Grand Marro Legion. We are under Direct control of Orion, one of three winged beasts that escorted us to this peculiar place. Those three were put in charge of one company each in the 1st battalion. Orion, the eldest, was very cruel. He often had us do marches night and day, day in and day out, for 4 days at a time. He rationed our water to drops a day, and we had to eat our own regenerative extremities. He was a fleshy creature, which meant he had nerves, and could feel pain. He would feel pain. The other two brothers, Cuana and Banvaer, would fall victim later. They Had NO place in a marro Army. By great Utgar, most powerful and ruthless of all Valkyrie, I would prove my worthyness to be a commander.

Stationed in North Naustralaund, we marched south. We were off to our first assignment, take the highway between The mountains that lead to the west babican and the island to elkstreme. We were going to cut off Jandar's troops to the west. We had to make some Allies, and Vydar was looking rather appealing to Utgar.

1st Squad Captain: Dlie-Felt-Til

August 12

We have arived just a few miles east of the battlefield. The actual Battle will take place near the narrow strait of water at the one thin point connecting Naustralaund and Elkstrem. There are twin parallel levies that run along either side of this small stretch of land. The raised highway uses a bridge to cross it at this point.

My squad alone was given the honor of leading the first assault. I thought that an assault to a semi guarded with matched numbers would prove to risky. Thus, i waded through the shallowest of water in dark of night, and with the aid of a spare drone spear, i chizled my way through the mainland side of the Levi that bordered the river. as i made it all of the way through about 5 feet, it began to spray on the opposite side, then, it gave way. water began gushing. Winter was approaching. This would prove as both an impairment to the enemy and a natural ally to our devious ways...

Ke-Mo-Shi assisted me on the battlefield by casting icy spells to freeze the water, and suggesting waiting until winter for a complete wall of ice to form. I was content with this idea, however word had came that Utgar's Main orc horde was already besieging the west babican, so we moved in to seize the road...

August 14

My squad, 6 drones, myself and my bodyguard, Sre-Fe-Ik.

WE moved into the breach i made the week earlier, and the wall was forming nicely, it would block the whole pass in a mater of time.

From atop my rock, i spotted a tower with a garrison of sentinels watching the borders. Perhaps taking the bridge would not be as simple as i thought.

Those cowardly sentinels stared down at us in fear as my squad marched for the road. We were spotted by a Sentinel on the bridge.

Knowing there end was near, the other two flew forth from there tower at my force. I would let the drones handle this.

Knowing they were outmatched, one fled, but the braver one redeemed himself by taking one down with him.

The drones ascended the later to the highway, and speedily ran down the bearer of ill-news.

The fastest drone was given a name, No-Raa. He caught the Sentinel between the shoulder blades before he could even take flight.

I lead my forces over the bridge into the border island of Moors, north of Elkstrom. I was crossing into the realm of Ullar. We would need to pass through here to reach Vydar. This border was not unguarded, however.

3 Aubrien Guards stood watch atop their towers. Sre-Fe-Ik took the innitiative again and with his good shot, he quikly took down one of the archers.

They struck down one of the Drones.

I delivered plasma to the head of the second elf. The last awaited his death out of sight. Instead of hurling himself over the edge, he would fight to the death. No-Raa's quick pace and blade would end this young elves life.

The drones sought enjoyment, so i allowed them to chop up the corpses, and toss them into the river.

We stood victorious on the battlefield. The drones took up position as i saw figures moving from atop the elven Tower.

It was Orion, with the second squad of the first company, and his cloned guards.

As Orion was upon me, my loyal body guard went to my side.

"You Scum, you've wasted two good drones. However, by direct orders of Ki-Mo-Shi, you know have control of The second company. I'll assume control of defense of the bridge. Get your worthlessness out of My sight."

As i dismounted the tower, the second company combined forces with mine.

We Marched off, leaving the bridge to Orion. I would know where to find him.
Lieutenant Dlie-Felt-Til, Leader of the First company. I like the sound of that. We left the field that day with a sense of purpose. We would cut a swath through the mainland of Elkstrom, and reach Vydar. With his forces, we could Dominate the Eastern Half of the Continent.

August 20

We have a temporary base on the island of Moors. Su-Bak-Na has lain a seed of a Marro nest here. Drones will be of an unlimited supply as long as it stands. I was just informed That The grand Marro Legion would no longer be a Marro Legion, but a Combined force of all sorts of Creatures. Utgar has recognized my service and rank, and has made sure that the forces i now control will stay under my control.
Grut forces from Upper Bleakwoode aer on there way. I guess The More the merrier. There is word that they are bringing along something completely new to the army. We shall see If these monsters are all they are cracked up to be.

August 30

We have been Marching on the Highway for 10 days, and we are well into Ullar Territory. They must have known we were here, because we haven't seen a thing, however faint whooshing noises are hear. The Highway gave way to a dirt road, which gave way to a grassy path. We were deep in the forest, and The troops were anxious.

I sent out a scout half a days march in advance. He reported back to Me:

"Just to the south, a ruined city, but within the ruins, there lies a building. I ventured to the building which was filled with short fleshy beings in woven garments. They had no hair on their heads."

This was a peculiar discovery. I sent My army South.

August 22


We arrive at the outskirts of the forest. I can see in front of me a short field and then what appears to be a collapsed bridge of sorts. A small river is all that divides my horde from the ruined city and onward. I approached the end of the road, at the edge of the river, and noticed a small rise in it, and then nothing. not even a remnant of a bridge until a similar rise on the opposite side of the river. I looked upstream for a good crossing, but all i found was the river head coming out of the mountains, a beautiful waterfall (marro enjoy beauty) leading into a pond, which fed the fast moving river.

I placed my foot into the turbulent waters and discovered just how hard it would be to swim across. This "bridge" was the thinest crossing, but it would still be two full strides across to the other side, too far to jump. I Peered into the small city, and discovered something peculiar. There were small mounds, cylindrical in shape, scattered about the city, each one higher than the last, and then, a massive building. Its columns twice as high as any marro , and even taller than the sentinels. But it was not the structure that supprised me. It was what was standing atop it.

"SUN KAI!!! Aliek Fenshuoa, XIOLAN XIOLAN, seeai maroow" Screamed the figure. Out of NOWHERE appeared a dozen more of these odd creatures, resembling the sentinels but lacking the hight, bulkiness, and wings, yet, even as I marveled at the amount of XIOLANS, i presume they are, THEY FLEW!! The leaped into the air, and unto the pillars scattered throughout the city, and it was then that i noticed what this "bridge" was. It was no bridge at all, it was a jumping spot. They all arrived along the opposite bank of the river, pointing and laughing at me as I obviously could not cross the river.

I would not be mocked. I raised my plasma rifle to the nearest one. The laughing stopped. I would show them who was the boss. However, they were not focused on me. they were looking left and right as they scattered among the ruins. a steadily increase of small shaking of the ground was apparent, but this was no earthquake. It was battle formations. The glint of armor appeared in the distance, and the stench of orc was here. Followed, though, by the stench of death. I grinned a hideous grin as i saw the horde on the opposite side of the river surround the small city.
