Yagyu --- FIGHT! (Wave 6 Mini-report added)

Well, my friend and I got RV on thursday (thanks Sandra!) so Friday we *had* to play. We wanted to use as many of the big guys as possible so we played 800 points (a lot for us). It was a thrown-together 1 MS map, because that's all my friend has. I of course wanted to play Jotun, but it was his place and his guys...so...yeah. Here's the team layout:

Yagyu: Nilfheim, Q9, Mimring, DW8K, Raelin, Tarn Vikings, Swog Rider (wish he would have had guilty!)

J-dog: Jotun, Krug, Dund, Zettians (ooo, those scum), Krav Maga, Denrick, and one set of knights

I forgot to take pictures of the start of the game, so a short description: My Swog and Vikings rushed out to grab some glyphs, and most are killed off instantly by the Krav. Got the range +4 for a turn, though, which let Q9 fire off a nasty shot at Denrick across the board.

Q9 then moved up and Queglixed all three agents (YES! I LOVE IT! DIE AGENTS DIE!).

Then, uh, Jotun turned Q9 into paste. One attack. I think he had height AND the attack glyph. 7 skulls, 2 shields. Pooo-aaah!

Ah, now I'm mad. Nilfheim here has just iced (literally) a zettian, a knight, and Sir Denrick himself. He's also just about to decapitate Krug. Due to unfortunate marker placement and a bad initiative roll by J-dog, ol' Nilf got three consecutive attacks (from height) on Krug.

Ok, so this might have been stupid. Feeling cocky (J has a 2-life jotun, dund, a zettian, and a knight left), I fly in to finish off this upstart giant. Nilf IS a king, right?

Mimring, beast that she is, flies out and burninates that lousy giant, and the last knight for good measure.

Ok, Mimring burnt dund to a crisp before he got in range. Now, the final showdown...My Mimring (with 1 life) and my Raelin, (full) versus one zettian. Thats it. I engage the zettian with raelin so he can't shoot at Mimsie.

Yeah. Crazy. Those big dudes are FUN though. Buy 'em if you don't have em, guys. Oh, and for those of you keeping tabs and wondering what became of DW8K. DW plinked away at jotun, but didn't ever get a wound in. Somewhere in there she died unceremoniously from a lone zettian shot. I hate Deathwalkers. I only drafted her because of KH_addicts story about killing krug in one turn. Hmph.

Well, can't wait till next time. I'm not letting him win again though. (fingers crossed)

Nilflem can't attack the same figure more than once per turn.

The three attacks on krug were normal attacks, not ice shard attacks. That's why it took bad order marker placement and an unfortunate initiative roll on his part for me to get three attacks in.

Round X:
Turn 2 - (J) Krug walks over here, (ME) Nilf flies over and hits krug
Turn 3 - (J) Jotun moves, (ME) Nilf hits Krug

Round X + 1: (I win initiative!)
Turn 1 - (ME) Nilf kills Krug

Time to blow the dust off this thread.

I've only been able to play a little bit with wave 6, so out of desperation I arranged two armies consisting of almost all wave 6: Utgar vs. Einar. I had Rychean's Rage For Order (http://www.heroscapers.com/download/index.php?dlid=120) set up from an earlier game (I like it, by the way), so I used that.

I started off playing the game by myself, but my wife (who usually doesn't play) came in and picked up the Einar side after 1 round. (I think she felt sorry for me, playing all by my lonesome)

It was a pretty quick game, and to keep my wife's interest I stopped taking pictures to keep it even speedier.

Highlights:
Runa got over to my wife's base real fast-like, and making the mitonsoul roll for each of her units was pretty excruciating. The helm only took out one of the Imperium, though Runa did put 3(!) wounds on Kaemon Awa!

A Shade possessed Kaemon Awa! Then the Imperium turned on him tore him a new one. Oh well.

Three consecutive Zombie onslaughts could not fell one resilient Tagawa Archer! Ridiculous.

The Imperium Annihilated everything on the opposing army, DESPITE having lost one guy to runa's helm early on. Kee-mo-shi was killed practically before moving. Zombies? Slashed to pieces. The game ended with one of the Imperium left standing, and an unwounded Empress. now to try them against range!
