Who here owns Kid Icaris? It is a NES game and on the wiis virual consule. Before I get farther, let me state.
This has nothing to do with the Wii so don't merge it. It might contain a question mentioning the wii but nothing more!
Kid Icaris is a very hard game. I downloaded it last month and am on level 1-3. I have a question. Whats with the password combo you get when you die? Is that a save mechinism? Do you own it on the Nes, Wii, or both.[/u]

I can only assume you havn't played many NES games.
Yes, that's a save mechanism. Before games could save themselves, they had passwords.

Besides ports and mario I have never played a NES game. I have never even seen one in person. You are 14. How have you played one? My first consule was 64.

My first personal console was a SNES, and my dad has a NES.

He wasn't, really. He got it as a gift from his friend. He is, however, a trekkie. He's seen every episode at least three times, and owns every episode on tape.

My dad is a trekkie also. He doesnt own them but he can probably rebuild a working starship enterprise by now. Without working bathrooms because they have shown them 2-3 times.

Shouldn't this be in the Wii VC thread?

No. Thats what I said in the begining. it is more about the original. i am asking about the original not the wii. If someone mentions the wii, thats ok though.

I am mad. I was on 1-3 and i pressed power by accedint. I have to start on 1-1. Good thing I have passwords. Ohh wait, my mom threw my password sheet out.
Is it true it is better to kill enemys, not avoid? Maybe its best I start over.

I love playing this game as a kid. Kid Icarus is dang hard and I probably would never be able to beat the game if it wasn't on my nes emulator.
Ok, think this game needs skill to play think again. If you go to a kid icarus faq on gamefaqs.com the guy there will explain everything about this game in detail. Let me see what I can remember....
In order to get the arrow (power) upgrades the game takes a formula based on your hit %. So everytime you miss you get some sort of penalty. If you want all the power upgrades then you have to pick your shots. Don't miss. When I read the faq I was surprised that so much mathematics was taken into effect on a nes game.
Makes me want to go back and play Contra.

Ah. Just had to go back and beat Kid Icarus on the emulator. Check that off my list.
Everything you need to know about the game is here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/file/587380/17485
